Good food and service in this historic pub. The dining room we were in was a bit cramped, but we felt fortunate that there was a table that was immediately available. I had the sirloin Sunday roast, which was slightly dry, but with excellent flavor. The gravy that accompanied it was superb, as were the roast potatoes and the mixed vegetables. View all feedback.
What Petros PAPAZOGLOU P doesn't like about Eagle:
A great place to visit for the history behind it and the nice atmosphere. Fish and chips, burgers and sweets were nice but the steak and ale pie dish was rather disappointing since in the end was just a pie without almost no meat in it. And this is the reason for the 3 stars. View all feedback.
Wow! This pub has a fascinating history and plenty of character to match. The food and drinks were excellent as well. If you're a fan of aviation, you definitely need to visit this place. I also noticed that if you're planning to dine during the dinner hour, it's a good idea to make a reservation since many tables had reservation signs on them.
Definitely a place to visit if you are traveling for the first time to Cambridge. The atmosphere is nice, and even though we couldn’t have the DNA beer, still others were good. Recommend their fish and chips and also the pie. Both were great
As we walked by the historic colleges of King's and Peterhouse, we came across this pub located in a bustling tourist area. It offers excellent real ale, and I tried the house Eagle Bitter by Greene King, which was quite enjoyable. The interior is charming, and the beer garden was filled to capacity. Tourists were flocking in for meals. As Inspector Morse wisely noted, "Real ale IS food, Lewis."
This is a wonderful spot to enjoy both its historical significance and pleasant ambiance. The fish and chips, burgers, and desserts were quite good, but I found the steak and ale pie to be rather disappointing, as it contained very little meat. This lack of substance is why I’m giving it three stars.
2nd oldest pub (but older building) in Cambridge, fantastic history with the RAF signatures on the ceiling, worth a visit for that alone. The food atmosphere are also great. We popped in for a small late lunch, the vegan sliders are top notch. We enjoyed the food so much, we visited the next day for a full lunch. We had the full vegan burger the steak, both excellent. Sticky toffee pudding dessert is also recommended. Good selection of drinks, good music, staff very friendly for us, it is the place to visit when we return
