While some patrons rave about the inviting vibe, cold beers, and enjoyable happy hour specials, others express frustration with inconsistent service and lackluster food quality. Many diners found the bar food unremarkable, often comparing it unfavorably to cafeteria fare. Although some commend the friendly staff and occasional good service, others report being overlooked for extended periods. Overall, the experience seems to hinge on timing and expectations, suggesting that while the atmosphere is a draw, culinary satisfaction may vary greatly.
Came to el Rey in Camarillo to watch some football on a Sunday. The service was SLOW !! Waited for our food for almost an hour just to get some burnt taquitos! Literally just ordered appetizers! They comped us our drinks and the taquitos which was appreciated, however it even took loong just to get a drink. I would have even appreciated if the waitress just acknowledged how long our food was taking , but no she barely even checked on us !! I would definitely recommend the Ventura location!!
Slow service. Server was super awesome. Food was below average in taste. Drinks were alright. Most likely won't be back.
They have the best Mexican candy shots and green tea shots. these are my best decisions. the personal love
I enjoy the retro ambiance and cool atmosphere of this restaurant. The theme of Dia de Los Muertos meets Elvis The King is unique. Although the menu could use more vegan and vegetarian options, overall it is still satisfying. We will definitely return in the future.
I went to this restaurant a few times for trivia and it was a terrible experience. The food is bland and not many options are suitable for vegans. The service is also lacking, as we were consistently ignored after being seated and had to repeatedly flag down the waitstaff for assistance. Additionally, they often forget to bring requested items like napkins and condiments. The restaurant offers gift cards as prizes for trivia, but their gift card reader has been broken for some time and there is no indication of when it will be fixed. Despite this, they continue to give out gift cards as prizes, which seems suspicious. Overall, I would not recommend this place.
