This happy hour is underrated in Eastern Market! Delicious food, good variety, large portions. A small but mighty beer and cocktail menu. And great service, music and atmosphere. Highly recommend! View all feedback.
What Esse Darden doesn't like about Harvest Tide Steakhouse Capitol Hill, Washington Dc:
The rating of 3 stars comes from the drink selection and friendly service. To be a steakhouse, the food leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered honey truffle fries and the presentation was surprisingly bad, they were piping hot, grossly white and limp: undercooked. I also ordered what I recall being rigatoni pasta but it tasted more like bland soup, having very little flavor. My friend ordered I think Maryland crab cak... View all feedback.

The food was awesome but service from the waiter was kind of wonky. I definitely recommend this place though if you got the money for it. It's not someplace cheap.
Very cute seating by the window in the front of the restaurant by the window. It was a quiet night, so we were very alone and it was a romantic setting. From there it went downhill. The waiter was kind and attentive, but too attentive and chatty. We definitely felt watched. The entrees sounded great, but they were out of the first harvest plate (their best steak), and the second choice was a dry aged steak, that unfortunately was too nutty flavored (though very tender). The tide plate was scallops which were embarrassing small and had flavor commensurate to their size. This restaurant has potential location, ambience, and a nice theme, but they didn 't execute the night that we were there. Even the waiter realized that things weren 't coming together and comp 'ed us a glass of wine...Maybe I will try again for lunch (less at risk) and see if I experienced an anomaly or a trend....
LOVED the customer service. The food. The atmosphere. GREAT
It's a really nice looking space. We were there at 6pm on Saturday, it wasn't busy, and never filled up so it was relatively quiet. The filet was not good. It was properly cooked to medium rare but the quality of the meat was lower than what you can get across the street at either of the butchers at Eastern Market. It was a little tough and chewy, not the fork tender experience you expect from filet.Ribeye was adequate. The 10 upcharge chimichurri butter added .50 of flavor and the truffle was barely there in the mashed potatoes.Crab cakes were a'ight but nothing special. But at this point we all know don't get crab cakes at a place that doesn't specialize in seafood, right? The cocktails we had were good and the appetizers we had were enjoyable. Service was...um....uneven, but the bread was a nice brioche that may have been the highlight of the meal.
