Fennelly's is a cozy coffee shop with a quaint atmosphere and friendly staff. While the vegetarian Panang Curry was disappointing, the cafe offers vegan and vegetarian options. The cafe is known for its great coffee, beautiful interior, and community feel. With local foods, free fires in winter, and a courtyard for summer, Fennelly's is a hidden gem in Callan. The eclectic decor, warm fireplace, and locally sourced food create the perfect environment for a relaxing breakfast or coffee. Overall, Fennelly's is a unique and welcoming spot, worth a visit for those seeking character and charm over mainstream appeal.
Went there for the second time, because first time was quite nice. The interior is really nice and you can tell that locals meet there, and I appreciate their efforts to be a place for the community, however: Two of us had the curry, one had the dhal, because we were looking for vegan options. The dhal needed a lot more salt, the curry was very sour and actually reminded me of vomit. Unfortunately, the texture was quite similar as well. Quite overcooked and not a trace of curry taste. I could see they had used turmeric, but that was as close as they got. I had had a very nice curry the day before with crunchy vegetables, so this was quite a disappointment. Wouldn't recommend it for lunch after this. Coffee is probably nice enough. The service was good, lovely girls from England and France (my guess).
This is a warm and atmospheric cafe serving lovely food from 7:30 a.m. The setting is authentic old world Irish village with very welcoming staff and I found it hard to leave to resume my spin! Well worth a visit it is a true hidden gem in the village of Callan.
The dahl was very good, but they say they are a vegan to get vegan extras. a beautiful room.
Just one of the loveliest cafes in the region. Food is amazing and the Kombucha is homemade! Great atmosphere!
