Best Greek in town. I went to van goghs for the first time last night. We had a party of seven, with split bills. Not only was the food delicious, I had the souvlaki, but the servers very welcoming, and eager to please. Will be back and am going to tell my friends View all feedback.
What LDawn RH doesn't like about Van Gogh Grill & Bar:
We hadn't been here for a few years, and were disappointed that things seem to be going downhill. The staff seemed tired, the food was mediocre I hope they get a boost! View all feedback.
I always leave here feeling full. The service is usually really good but I have had a few times where it's been very slow. I love the dolmathes- the feta on it is awesome! The souvlaki meals are very filling and the lemon potatoes are my favourite.
Good food, great atmosphere... I've been going to this restaurant on and off for about five years, and they still have hands down the best Spinach Tortellini I have ever tasted. I always order their Tortellini, and even their other dishes that I've tried are good too. Calamari is terrific and it's just a nice, warm atmosphere. It isn't too loud, which is nice, but it's still steady. Very good service and delicious food.
Wonderful owners!! So gracious and accommodating!!! Definitively stop again on our trip to Calgary!!!
We have been going here for many many years! And we absolutely love this place! We drive all the way from Airdrie to eat here. The two sticks meal is amazing with a side of Tzatziki, and the calamari is the best we have ever had (and we eat out a lot) . The owners are lovely people. They have sent us home with their home made Caesar salad dressing and they always come out to talk to our kids and say hello to us. The only negative thing I would say is that they are so far away from us! But we don’t mind making the trip.
I have lived in Valley Ridge for the past 20 years. I 've seen this place go through different owners and each time I go back because it 's supposed to be amazing . They routinely mess up the simplest of things, like pizza, and more recently their wings. Thursday 's are supposed to be wing night at Van Gough 's but you have to ask for what flavours they have because it 's not on the menu. Asian food night is on Saturday 's but again you have to ask because it 's not on the menu, and the menu for this is hidden away. The asian food night was terrible, as they use greek rice and apparently don 't know how to cook anything as anything that needed to be fried was overcooked. Wing night was another disaster. Again the wings were overcooked making them crispier than they should have been. On top of that the wings were mostly broken and some were more comparable to chicken chunks than wings. Now apart from the food the services is terrible. The one waitress Van Gough 's has is rude to say the least. She is slow, and can 't remember simple things like requiring a box. We waited a very long time to get refills on our drinks and even longer to get the actual food. this wouldn 't be a problem if she wasn 't so busy chatting up everyone at the bar instead of being a waitress. Overall. In the 20 years I have lived in the community, it has always been the same. Terrible. As of the time of this writing they have been ordered by Alberta Health Services to stop dine-in service due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19.
