This restaurant took hold of my heart about 6 years ago when it had a location in Braeside. The staff are the friendliest people you will ever encounter and the food is beyond words. Everything is homemade down the the tortilla chips&salsa they bring you to start your meal. I've never had more authentic Mexican cuisine whilst in Canada, the spices and flavours are out of this world. Their enchiladas verdes is MAGNIFICENT and their refried beans are always smooth and creamy. Two of my friends shared a chimichanga and could barely finish it, great price for great portions. I'm extremely excited to get my fix of delicious food once they open again in July!
As someone who appreciates authentic Mexican food for it's fresh, rich flavours and colourful plating I was sorely disappointed by the lack of quality seen at this very pricey restaurant. Firstly, their margarita was lime cordial with cheap tequila in it...honestly the kirkland costco premade margarita tastes more authentic...which is saying somethingI ordered spicy chorizo tacos which came with a side of rice and beans. The tacos came with two corn tortillas, rice and meat with a few onions on top as their "pico de gallo". No fresh mexican cheese, no tomatoes, no cilantro, no lime, NADA. The meat was dry, the rice completely unspiced and the refried beans also left much to be desired. NO hot sauces were offered at the table which would have really helped me to finish my flavourless meal.Sad excuse for tacos as I've had tacos closer to authentic Mexican at Julio's barrio...again, which is saying a lot. My family has been to Mexico many times and not to resorts. As avid cooks ourselves, we appreciate what Mexican cuisine has to offer and was looking forward to experiencing that at Tu Tierra. Needless to say, we will not be wasting our money at this establishment again.
My wife and I were recent guests in the restaurant and left fully satisfied. The portions were generous and the service was very impressive. Steady supply of nachos and real pico de gallo for us. Everything was reasonably priced. Decor is a little spartan, but not a big deal. When the Mexican desire strikes again, I will return.
Excellent food and prompt, friendly service. We've been there many times over the years. The servers are always pleasant and competent and the food always tastes fresh - as though it went from the farm to the table in less than one day. The sauces are delicious and their tastes are distinct from one another. We have often seen members of the staff and their families eating there. What better advertisement could there be than having employees, their spouses and children eating the same food as the customers?
Don't waste your money, worst food ever and wow expensive for absolutely the worst food ever!!!! save your money, go somewhere else
