TommyField Gastro Pub - Calgary

We were looking for a place to have brunch or lunch or a nibble of some sort and happened upon TommyField, near the new hospital. It was wonderful! The prices are excellent; it was quiet - especially for a Tuesday lunchtime, and the food was impressive. I had the mini yorkies.....none of them reheated, out of a bag, they were made in house. Served with great roast beef, au jus and horseradish aioli, there were six.....just right. My husband had the house salad with chicken and appreciated the dressing and the portion size. There is what looks to be a delightful rooftop patio which was not open on this cool cloudy day, but we can't wait to go back and check it out.

Outdoor area is nice but food and draft beer is not too good. Many of the draft beers tasted off like they were old or weren't being refrigerated properly. Food was also below average. Nachos were a big let down. Ordered with chicken and there was barely any on. The worst part was that they use cheese wiz or some other brand of poor quality cheese. There's no way this place is a gastro pub.

I've gone a couple of times - both times for chicken wings. They have the best salt

Sat out on the patio which was nice. If I could rate this 3 1/2 stars I would. Had the black fish sandwich which was really nice, and sweet potato fries. My other half had the steak which seemed to be just ok.Also had a basil Collins which I enjoyed.

Every time I went I was drunk. but from what I remember. It was always good. We would always go here after baseball last summer and they would always make room for seating, always room for parking. The outside patio is really nice, they have little table top fire place type things that warm you up if it gets chilly. I liked it every time we went.
