We began with the artichoke dip, and I found the bathroom to be clean, but nothing about the place struck me as special. The dip was served with mini-breadsticks that could have benefited from being roasted or grilled, as they were on the drier side and didn't pair well for dipping. My dining companion ordered the maui ribs and enjoyed the crispy rice cake, but mentioned that the ribs were just okay. I ordered a sirloin with the Oscar upgrade. The steak was a bit chewy, though it was cooked nicely. Unfortunately, the seasonal crust was slightly burned. The potato purée, which was essentially just a scoop of potatoes, and the vegetables were quite standard. For dessert, we shared the sticky toffee pudding, which was clearly microwaved as it was served steaming hot. While the flavor was good, the cake lacked texture due to the microwave treatment, and the ice cream melted too quickly. Overall, given the prices, we expected much more from the meal, and it's unlikely we will return soon. We mentioned that we missed Jack Astor's, which pretty much sums up our experience.
