this is probably the least successful visit I have made in the 43 years I am here to this keg, as this is a favorite eating and irrigation hole spot for me. it was still good, just not great. Maybe it was a combination of steaks' prizes squeezing these steak houses, with the fact that this was the first week that restrictions were lifted in alberta, but both my wife and I found that our steaks were a tad harder than... I don't know why I always continue to go to the Keg.
I was at The Keg last night with my brother and sister for an early birthday celebration and we were not disappointed! Service by Brandon was wonderful. A cheerful and friendly person made our visit so much fun. Brandon hearing it was a birthday celebration dinner, brought us a complimentary piece of cake. We ordered a garlic shrimp as starter to share and it wa nicely and tastefully prepared, a la escargot style with accompanying warm bread. All three of us ordered the 6oz steak and lobster(half a huge lobster) and was it good! It was a full house on a Monday night and we were there at 6pm! So reservations is highly recommended. In spite of a full house, food delivery time was perfect. Excellent choice for steak and lobster!
We wanted to take a granddaughter for dinner. She suggested the Keg Steakhouse and Bar on Macleod Trail.It was an excellent experience. We were not rushed to place our orders. As we considered the menu, they delivered a loaf of bread for us to share. Two of us ordered a Caesar salad to split. They split it in the kitchen for us, a nice touch. Two of us ordered a steak. It was prepared just as we requested, not over or under cooked. Our third party ordered a chicken dish which she finished. It was so good; she finished her meal which she usually does not do. We all ordered dessert. They have mini deserts which are a great size, small but tasty, just the right finish to a meal. Two of us had a fudgy brownie serviced with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream with a cherry on it. Our third party had the cream Brule as it was gluten free.The service was great/excellent, not pushy and not hovering or pestering us. Our waiter, Chris appeared at the right times. We didn’t feel rushed.We will be back.
