Description

State and Main is a typical bar/pub style restaurant with an extensive menu. The food is decent, with highlights including the Bang Bang shrimp and the dirt pie dessert. The atmosphere can be a bit loud, but the service is excellent. Overall, State and Main offers good value for the money and is worth a visit for those looking for a relaxed dining experience with plenty of options to choose from.

State and Main is your typical bar/pub style restaurant, very similar to Original Joes; in fact our server told us that they are owned and operated by the same organization. The menu is extensive....Gordon Ramsay would shudder....but you pretty much can get any kind of food you want here. We tried the Bang Bang shrimp and it was excellent; a very generous portion of crispy and tender battered shrimp with a spicy chili sauce drizzled over top. My wife ordered the Dragon Boat lettuce wraps and she said they were fairly good, although the ingredients were pre-mixed and supplied in a bowl rather than presented individually for the diner to create their own wrap, as in most places we've been to. I went with the chicken teriyaki rice bowl and it was decent, not as good as some I've had. The dirt pie we ordered for shared dessert was an amazing value (all of their desserts are $5) and consisted of two very large slices of chocolate and mocha ice cream with brownie chunks on top of cookie crumble drizzled with chocolate and caramel. Yummy! Our server was excellent; her timing was perfect, she was friendly and informative, and took the time to briefly chat, which gave the evening a personal touch. Excellent service and value and decent food means a return visit is in order.

It seems that the $12 "Wedge Salad" is simply a whole head of lettuce sliced in half. You may need to use a steak knife to cut your salad into smaller pieces.

The service and food quality have declined significantly in recent times.
