I keep trying new places for Indian food in an attempt to find the perfect butter chicken! While at a "Taste The Market" event recently, I tried Shef's butter chicken with basmati rice and it was rich and savory. Next time I'm there, I'll be sure to try the naan bread too. View all feedback.
What Diana Maia doesn't like about Shef's Fiery Kitchen:
The owner of Shef's has been rude to me each and every time I've visited. I have come with coupons twice and she always has some ridiculous rule about them. I have also come to order without a coupon and she hurried me and snapped...at me. The other people working there seem perfectly nice, but have been quietly trying to get through my order while being seemingly (and rightfully) embarrassed for/by her. As for the f... The whole atmosphere @ CFM is superb but no visit is complete without some lunch from Shef's Fiery Kitchen. The food is superb and extremely well cooked. The family also take the opportunity of stocking up to cook back @ home.Thai curry and buttered chicken are amongst our favourites. Shame we live in the UK but you can guarantee that we will call again on our next visit to Alberta later this year.
A Spicy SurpriseAfter spending years living and traveling in India, Pakistan, Thailand, etc., I’m always looking for the ‘real thing’ when it comes to perfectly spiced food. It’s not always easy. While at the Calgary Farmers’ Market, I’ve often walked by Shef’s to other food vendors. But, I had read the latest reviews here and decided to give it a try. It was a spicy surprise. Much to choose from, but Shef had two on the go…Butter Chicken and Lamb and Lentil which I had side by side on basmati rice. Both were very tasty. The self-serve condiments provided added the extra touch - cilantro, chopped green onion, and mango-mint, coconut, and tamarind chutneys. My only negative was that I’d prefer them to be under glass for service (or covered). It was noon and a line-up wait was about 15-20 minutes. At 1 pm I noticed there were no waits. I’ll go at 1 pm next time…and I will definitely go!
Stopped by for lunch and loved the food. The lamb mishkaki wrap was certainly worth the 10 minute wait. I also got the Kashmiri lamb, butter chicken and curry chicken to go. Loved all of them. Will definitely return.
I went to the market today to try Shef's Fiery Kitchen Indian food. We were not disappointed.Thank you for the fabulous dinner tonight Shef! Steven and I enjoyed the chicken and spinach as well as the coconut vegetables! The service was quick and Sharon and Shef were both very friendly. They made recommendations as I didn't know what I wanted to take home for the freezer. I was also given a sample of today's special, which was delicious and I ended up taking home for tonights dinner. I will definitely recommend Shef's Fiery Kitchen to all of my friends and will be back again soon to stock up the freezer!Thank you again for a delicious dinner!Simone and Steve
The small plate of butter chicken with rice was a filling lunch. Great flavors and the added sauces (mango and coconut) and chopped cilantro made it a perfect plate!
