We love this Canadian owned and operated coffee company. This location has friendly, attentive staff, with a fireplace and comfortable decor. It's a great location if you're shopping in the Shawnessy area. It was great to see that they are sponsoring Canadian artists with their selection of beautiful designer coffee cups. Plus they have free self-serve water. The web site doesn't convey the good selection of food items that they offer (muffins, loafs, cookies, etc.), and we didn't notice recycling options there (so we brought our paper cups home to do so).
Excellent dark roast coffee. Open early. My husband and I weren't interested in our hotel's free breakfast, so I asked the server and a patron if there was any good place nearby to get a quick breakfast. They both recommended Ricky's (I think that was the name) and it was excellent.
It's Canadian, it has the best hot chocolate - hot or frozen- going. Service is quick and friendly and it's right across from the hockey rink. What's not to love??
This is the best Second Cup in Calgary. Second Cup offers a variety of beans, roasts, and blends that all have distinct and delicious flavors.
The details. The Second Cup I visited had the classic menu items and delicious coffee that you would expect from any location. What set this particular one apart was the friendly service. The baristas were welcoming and attentive, making my experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for a reliable spot to grab a cup of coffee with a side of hospitality, this Second Cup is a solid choice.
