Best restaurant in Calgary IMO, used to come in when Niko was just starting up and gave him lots of business 15 years ago. Watched him grow but the quality never wavered, he'd whip up things that weren't on the menu for me frequently. Hope you're doing well Niko, best regards from Miguel and Al! View all feedback.
What Vladimir Senger doesn't like about Niko's Bistro:
Service and atmosphere are great. Prices are average. The food was super salty. I dine out often and this is the saltiest food I have eaten at a restaurant ever. Ordered the lamb shank, which came with a salty tomato sauce and overcooked extra salty risotto . Honestly the risotto was more like mashed rice with chicken soup seasoning. Maybe it was an off night, will never know. I won 't be going back. View all feedback.
I was craving Italian cuisine, so I asked my boyfriend to find an Italian restaurant, and we decided to try Niko's Bistro. We ordered spaghettini carbonara, penne calabrese, bruschetta, and cream caramel for dessert. The food completely satisfied my craving! It was my first authentic Italian experience here in Calgary, and the staff was very friendly too! I'm definitely planning to bring my friends next time!
read moreWe took 11 family members from age 9 to 80 to Niko’s Bistro and had a fabulous experience. Our family waitress was great, food was delicious and overall experience was perfect. This small Bistro has a neighborhood feel but accommodated a large party (which includes young children and a vegetarian) exceptionally well.
read moreThe chef does a great job with a limited menu. We brought a family of 11 in a restaurant laid out for four-tops. They did a great job serving a group with ages from 8 to 80. The story on their website is of an immigrant coming to the US and eventually having his own restaurant — that has been recognized as one of the top 100 restaurants in Canada. Berry good food. Reasonable prices. Not a late night place. They close at 9.
read moreNiko’s is a little restaurant in Kensington. Our waitress was so nice I couldn’t decide between the Cannelloni and the Manicotti so the waitress told me I could have one of each on my plate to try since the order came with 2 anyways. So nice and accommodating. Both were excellent. The only reason that I give the restaurant atmosphere 4 stars is because the restaurant itself is small. And there is no outside patio.
