Mimosa Restaurant Ltd - Calgary

We live a few minutes walk from Mimosa and normally have a great meal (take-out).Tonight was surprisingly disappointing.We had:Appetizer -

Food was okay but the server was rude and inattentive didn't Evan ask drinks and didn't give any cutlery. found out it that the old guy who's serving us was the manager owner. Very rude and not friendly very disappointed. Definetly not going back!

Someone in our Friday night dinner group suggested to go there. There were about 13/14 of us. We wanted to pay individually or as a couple. We told the waitress when we ordered the food. It took close to 2 hours for the whole dinner. The first couple got their food in pretty good time, but the rest of us did not get our dishes for a long time and at different times. I was the last one to get my main dish after most of the group had already finished their meals. We were not too happy. It appeared that there were several take out orders and the kitchen could not keep up. We understand that large orders would take more times to prepare, but at least they should come out at the same time. By the way the dishes served appeared to be fresh and hot. But it is far too slow and not coming at the same time was a killer.Of course the bill payment was another fiasco as they could not remember who had what. It was a mess. Definitely not going back any time soon.

Good standard Vietnamese food, usually quiet. nice place for quick supper, in Shawnessey shopping center

We were here for the Calgary Stampede, visiting from the US, and discovered Mimosa. Very impressed with the beautiful décor and the unique atmosphere. Most of all, the food is delicious! We had vegetable fried rice, grilled lemongrass chicken on steam rice, sweet and sour soup, and tonkinois beef. We have been at many Asian restaurants both in Canada and in the US, but this one is the best. We loved the services too. Services were excellent and fast. The server was very accommodating. We definitely will return to this restaurant. Most importantly, we recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice restaurant, good food, and outstanding hospitality.
