Los Mariachis Restaurant - Calgary

Great food and worth the wait. The service isn't speedy and there is no sense of being rushed through your meal. Appetizers were good and meal was amazing. Would definitely be worth a return visit.

This restaurant is one to make on your regular rounds in Calgary. The outside is very blah, but the inside is clean and has some nice Mexican decor. It is small but great atmosphere. The food is great, with lots of flavour and nice presentation. Really good sized portions too, so value for the money. We were there on a Saturday and they had a Spanish guitarist/vocalist playing with a great voice. That was a very nice touch. A good amount to choose from on the menu and we will for sure be back again and again. The service was good, however when we first came in there were few people seated and the food came hot and prompt. Soon after the place was full and it seemed that the staff was a bit slower in bringing our food to us and the main course could have been a bit hotter, although it tasted great. So 5 stars even considering that.

Ordered the tortilla soup as an appetizer, menu specified it came with avocado, didn't get it so I had to ask for it. Also ordered the Tacos Al Pastor which specifies on the menu that they come with pieces of pineapple, again no pineapple on my tacos and when I asked for them I was told there were "very small pieces." There was absolutely no pineapple not even small pieces. And when we wanted to pay they tried to charge us for an extra pop that we didn't even have.

First time eating at this restaurant and it was great. We reserved a table which was good because it was very busy. The service was good and the food was excellent. We ordered nachos del Rey as an appetizer. It came quickly and was very good. I ordered the chicken burrito and my family had the enchiladas and quesadilla. All of the portions were a good size and the food was delicious. Our drinks came quickly too. There are many more items on the menu that I want to try so I will definitely go back again. I thought the price was fair. There was live entertainment as well. A solo guitar musician with a beautiful singing voice, it really made the whole experience lovely.
