Salad rolls are always fresh. The satay beef vermicille bowl is good and the satay beef sub is great as we'll. Go here once a week, love the food, service is fast. View all feedback.
What Bernard Gonzalez doesn't like about Golden Bell Saigon Restaurant:
I was having my car repaired nearby and stopped in here for lunch by myself. I had the seafood sate pho. It was good but wasn’t as flavourful and spicy as sate soup at other places. Not bad but not great either. I am usually...pretty uncomfortable eating in restaurants alone and the servers here were very friendly and made me feel very welcome. View all feedback.
Large selection of options. fast and - abundant. the food was tasty, but could have been warmer. sauces were excellent
Great experience, we ordered suppe and got short curly hair on it. we complained and ask for a replacement, but cannot help but think how they prepare the food they serve. we are no longer looking forward to eating there. ask for food safety.
Celiac/gluten sensitive or anyone with food allergies and/or food restriction AVOID at all costs. it was informed that a product was gluten-free, just a week later to say after it had ordered the same. badly trained and uninformed staff that causes potential damage.
As the tardis, more space inside than outside appears; carefully clean, fast service. had the lenongrass gay baguette sandwich, which was on ultra-fresh brot, and wonderfully satisfying. not hot served, but the meat was wonderfully warm, and the sweet fresh and crispy.
Ordered the beef satay soup asked for it spicy. It arrived minutes later in a cloudy peanut buttery pho soup rather that than a more clear and tasty broth. Noodles were mushy and overcooked, there were no slices of nice beef to be seen, and...they provided a measily side of spotted leaf basil and dark old, even slimy bean sprouts. Spicy ? Not ! I could hear the entire kitchen staff was openly talking in Tagalog, meaning there was an overwhelming Filipino influence in the food prep and presentation with a clear absence of any authentic Vietnamese input, hence possibly that this was the worst pho I have experienced in memory. It was a struggle to get through it and uncharacteristic of the beef satay soup that I enjoy at many locations around Calgary. I hope management gets more involved, and take steps to improve the freshness and tastiness of their offerings. Peanut has no place in this type of soup and they should know that. Great location, good decor, but this restaurant will never become popular or recommended if they don’t up their game.
