Contribute FeedbackFive Guys in Calgary is a hit or miss for many customers. Despite some negative reviews regarding undercooked fries and subpar vegetarian options, the overall consensus is that the burgers are fresh and flavorful. The portion sizes are generous, making them worth the slightly higher prices. The staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and attentive service. Customers also appreciate the unlimited drink refills and fun peanut in the shell touch. Overall, Five Guys seems to be a solid choice for those craving an American-style burger experience in Calgary, despite some room for improvement in certain areas.
Way better than Fatburger which is overpriced for what you receive. Tge burgers are good the fries are not to salty and the soda fountain is self-serve.
I tried Five Guys for the first time and really enjoyed it. The hamburgers are fresh, never frozen, and you select whatever toppings you want. They also have a choice of regular of 'Cajun' fries and the spicy ones were great! They also include unlimited refills on fountain drinks. Be aware though, that they use peanut oil for all their cooking so if anyone in your party has a peanut allergy, best to stay away. As well, while the food is excellent, it is a bit more expensive than other fast-food establishments.
It was good to be back at our favorite 5Gs place. The food was good, as usual, and the service all we could expect.
I am not a burger eater unless they are home cooked so when I discovered 5 Guys in Mesa Az I was impressed. Now they have a few locations in my home town, Calgary so on recent Ikea binge we stopped for a burger. While not as cheap as the usual burger bars, burgers here freshly made and cooked to order. The menu is simple, either regular burgers or cheese burgers in various sizes. I had the small burger which was more than big enough for me, with mayo, tomatoes, grilled onions and mushrooms. Toppings are included and there are plenty to choose from. My lunch partner had a regular cheeseburger which looked huge to me, I suspect even he could not down the "big burger". The regular fries are big enough to share which we did with liberal quantities of malt vinegar. The fries are worth a visit on their own. Crispy, freshly cut and piping hot they are excellent. Sacks of the potatoes are available for sale, a nice touch. They have peanuts to snack on while you wait which I avoided to keep room for the main event. It was very clean, with staff constantly wiping down surfaces in between filling orders. I have no doubt we will go back when we want a real burger fix, a feeling clearly shared by our fellow diners.
Food tasted good. Its very clean. The people working there were very friendly. Certainly a place a person would go if ever in the area again.
