What Anonym dislikes about Fiddlers Pub:
One factor that sticks in my craw is the blatant ageism and sexism at work in this establishment. I have visited on many occasions and have never seen any men staff other than the cook and anyone over the age of 30 working there. Some of the staff like to flirt with men even though they are with someone female and they are busy dashing outside to have smokes with patrons. This is annoying behavior to say the least. T... Fiddler 's Courtyard is the neighbourhood pub that I wish was my neighbourhood pub. It 's not in a pub neighbourhood where you would be expecting to see a top notch pub and that adds even an additional appeal. Is it top notch? Well, that, my friends, depends entirely what you are looking for. I feel like I need to say 'pub ' some more. Pub. The Food: Pretty darn alright! Keep in mind, this is a British pub and the Brits aren 't exactly known for their cuisine. That said, if you 're looking for some badass bangers and mash, there aren 't many spots that can rival it. Sausages, or bangers if you will, mashed potatoes with gravy and those mushy, mushy British peas. I freakin ' love these peas! It might be a nostalgia throwback to the less than satisfactory culinary practices of my parents during my youth, but I love these things! Dark, olive green in colour, mushy beyond reality, yet delicious beyond belief. For the most part, it 's pretty standard pub fare with an english flare. Sassy servers: This place has ladies with attitude. Short skirts, and enough feistiness to make sure that you never take notice. Fiddler 's Courtyard had a host of regulars that the lovely ladies working here entertain, but still very much keep control of. They have booths and a good bar for sitting at all by your lonesome, Trivia on TV it 's great for starting up a convo with you bar neighbour. The beer selection focuses strongly on the mainstream beers of the world. Carlsberg, Stella, Guinness, Boddingtons ' and so on. I 've been to the Fiddler 's Courtyard for everything from the evening pint and chit chat, to a beer before breakfast, yet after the Canadian Gold Medal Olympic game. It 's a pub the way a pub should be. Nothing less and nothing more.
I am not going to give this establishment a full 5 star review because I haven't tried that much from here. However, I did get the deep fried pickles, the chicken cesar wrap and fries. The deep fried pickles I had are some of the best that i have had from a bar because the battering on the pickles was nice and light and the dip that came with them was amazing!! There was horseradish in it and I do not like spicy but it tasted almost like horseradish mixed with sweet mayo so it was a sweetened spicy combination and it was amazing!! I asked the waitress what it was but she did not know so that is what I am guessing it was because that is what it tasted like. The chicken cesar was regular it was average so I will need to go here again sometime to try more to get a better opinion.
Went there for brunch today. The menu for brunch was small but I was happy to see eggs Bennie on the menu. my friend and I eventually got menus, eventually ordered the Bennie's, got coffee when we ordered. Two staff members one who was handling outside patio seemed to be hustling. our waitress appeared to be half cut. we waited, waited some more, and then waited some more. Then we walked out never to be seen again.
I had one of the worst experiences with service that I've ever encountered. The waitress treated us as if we were bothering her just by being there and wanting to be served. We ended up canceling our food order and explained that it was due to the poor service. She didn’t seem to care at all. I won’t be returning!
Fiddler's is alright. I've been coming here for about 8 years and I long for the times when it was less of a sports bar. The recent addition of VLT's bothers me, though they're rarely used. The menu's recently been spruced-up and looks quite awesome actually. Also the service is usually good. By way of little sports pubs, this one's worthy.

The wings at this restaurant are fantastic! I highly recommend trying their Fish and Chips for only $10 on Fridays, it's amazing. The fries and seasoning are the best I've ever had. Additionally, they offer a selection of both local and global beers on tap.
We had a great experience at this straightforward pub. Last night, we went with a group to watch the game and have dinner. The food we ordered was hot, tasty, and arrived quickly. Despite being clearly busy, our waitress was efficient and managed to serve us without any delays. The service was fantastic, the food was surprisingly delicious, and the menu had a variety of interesting items. We believe we have discovered our new favorite spot in the North.
Fun night. Had a very different experience than some of the other recent posters. came in on a weeknight to meet some friends. they had their ribs on special so I ordered a plate and then another followed by another. pretty tasty stuff. the service was attentive and friendly. I am new to the neighborhood and will be making fiddlers courtyard my second home!
Awesome Food and Great Atmosphere. I've been to Fiddler's a few times now and I've always been impressed. The food is amazing, especially the ribs and the prices can't be beat. $4 bottles of beer!!! It's refreshing going somewhere that doesn't charge $8/beer. I've also seen some good live music here.

We also had the Flatbread Mediterranean Pizza good and the Classic Burger which I was told was very good as well. The garden salad as a side was fresh with lots of veggies. One word of caution: if the server asks you if you want yam fries instead of regular fries be prepared to pay extra as well if you ask for an extra sauce such as the chipotle sauce you will pay extra for it. But all in all is was a good place to eat.
Rude Service. Flat warm beer. Long wait for food. This is the third visit, because I live close. I'm done.
First off its called Fiddlers Courtyard not Fiddler Courtyard. We met another couple for Saturday brunch in their neighbourhood...they suggested Fiddler 's Courtyard (British Pub). When we arrived the pub was very busy, there was a party going on at one end and the staff were rocked . We requested the person greeting us, the blonde barmaid, to seat us at a vacant booth which needed to be bussed/cleaned. She was quite clipped and crabby apparently stressed out. After that our brunch went nicely, as a pleasant young waitress (brunette with side of head shaved) took over our talbe. Everyone enjoyed their meals Eggs Benedict, British Breakfast and Veggie Flatbread. Coffee service was sporadic and when the blonde barmaid was on rounds with coffee she snapped at us when we asked her for refills. This would have been a very pleasant brunch were it not for the brusque blonde.
Don't even know where to start because there are so many things wrong in this place. Have a place on the terrace with 10 of our friends (yes, we are a big group, but there were only two other parties on the terrace at that time and could only see some tables inside). Manager already annoyed us because we try to connect two tables together, so we were eating separately. Our server comes to the table without greeting or smile after 15 minutes, only ‘what do you want?’ we don’t have menus yet. We should've gone out. Call the server another 15 to get our food order and take only one of our tables before he left and waits the other. Then the long hour and 20 minutes wait for our food. Not surprised when it came cold and soggy, but no staff to ask us how our food was or even to check on us. We asked for invoices, but our server never came back with the card machine (other 20 minutes), so we all had to go in to find them. And there were easily 4 other tables that were in the same position as we and equally disappointed. Two ladies who had their drinks when we arrived, got their food after us, we were just tied up. You said they ran away from their feet and understated, but I don't understand how you don't think your restaurant will not fill up on a Sunday morning in Calgary while the stamp is? But from our point of view, from a group of us who live and serve in Banff, the place was not busy enough for these many problems. The worst culinary experience we had for years. Skip this place. Everything's better than here.
I took my dad who visited Calgary to meet a few friends for drinks and ribs, we were there for a few hours. paid my tab and took my dad home, got a call from one of my friends later, who told me I checked my bill, we were both charged a few extra drinks. a few weeks earlier, with the same waitress, I was charged for additional drinks, I spoke to the waitress at the time that said I drank the amount on the bill, I argued the problem, which led to the manager taking the additional drinks out of the bill. the thing is that we all pay with interim **** and trust that the pub staff do not try to cheat us. I live in the area and I will not return to the fiddler farm!!
