Their biscuits are huge and delicious, and they also offer chewing gum. The music is enjoyable, playing in the background at a volume that allows for conversation without yelling. They have tables perfect for studying or working on your laptop, complete with outlets. The dark roast coffee beans are exceptional.

I tri... read more I made a special effort to support this restaurant, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning. The regular staff was very rude to customers. I tried to break a $50 bill after making a non-cash purchase, and a manager had to get involved to help me. The regular employees refused to acknowledge my request and claimed it was too difficult to break the bill, even though they had more than enough cash in the register. I assumed that because I didn't pay in cash, they were hesitant to accommodate me. I asked if I could buy coffee beans instead to make a cash transaction, but I was rudely declined. I pointed out that there was no sign stating they didn't accept $50 bills, but they continued to ignore me. The manager eventually intervened and explained that although they prefer smaller bills, they could still make the transaction. I was able to purchase my coffee beans in the end, but the experience was very unpleasant, and I have no desire to return. If I'm willing to pay $8 for a coffee, I don't believe that using a $50 bill should be a problem.

Lovely staff and possibl... read more Two Kiwis out and about walking in Calgary and just happened to wander past Deville Coffee in Kensington. So glad it time for a coffee! Lovely staff and possibly the best flat white I'd had in Canada (lots of Canadian coffee menus don't offer a flat white). Also had an apple fritter which was absolutely delicious.
