A&w Canada - Calgary

I seldom go out of my way to write a negative review, but this interaction was ridiculous. My mom and I went to this A&W on family day at around 4:35pm, the tallest of the two workers out the front, who told me her name was “Siri”, had the nastiest, most rushed attitude I have encountered. There was nobody lined up My mom had been wanting to try the peri peri buddy burger she saw announced, and unknowingly ordered it as such. Siris interrupted my mom to ask her which one 3 different times. At this point it’s clear my mom did not know there was different per peri burgers and I think it would have been appropriate for the worker to simply explain the options. My mom got nervous and kept repeating “peri peri buddy burger” until I had to intervene. Siris just kept interrupting “which one” in an aggressive and annoyed tone. When I ordered my food, she again kept interrupting to ask “okay anything else” before I could even finish telling her the mods I wanted? She then asked me to scoop closer to my mom cause I was taking up too much space at the counter. Again, there was nobody lined up. To finish off her awful service, my mom wanted to pay with fairly rubbed off tap card and was taking a while on the payment machine. Siris looked extremely annoyed and just kept pointing “here” where my mom already had her card. She was looking at the distance and clearly not noticing her finger was in the way. Upon finishing her payment, my mom accidentally picked up the tray with our drink and Siris held it from the sides and smashed it down to say “don’t touch just leave here”. What is the point of belittling someone who clearly has a language barrier? And most importantly so: Who is the hiring manager allowing this kind of service? I want to state againit was not busy. I myself work in customer service and if I had provided this kind of interaction, I would have been fired and rightfully so. It was ridiculous.
