বাঙালি ভুরিভোজ manei Aaheli .<br Pujor age kobji dubiye bangali khawar khete hole chotpot chole jan Peerless Inn er Aaheli te.<br I recently visited my all time favourite place Aaheli to witness their Ilish Utsav. <br How safe is it to eat at Aaheli? <br The staff is very well equipped to fight against the global pandemic.<br As soon as you step into this property, the staff will check your body temperature , sanitize your belongings and thoroughly check you via the Arogya Setu Application.<br That 's not it, before entering the premises of the resturant you will again go through a sanitization process.<br The tables are sanitized with utmost care .<br With soft rabindra sangeet playing in the background ,you are sure to immerse yourself into the heavenly meal served here.<br This time I was here with the 'New Norms 'to enjoy the delectable Hilsa platters prepared by chef. <br Hilsa Ilish has a very sacred place in the hearts of every bengali. <br Monsoon without Ilish is unimaginable.<br Due to the pandemic we all are tired of having the same old home cooked food and so Aaheli one of the pioneer resturant serving Bengali cuisine is here with its Ilish Festival which is running till 2nd of October,2020 .<br To start with ,we have our very own Ilish Bhaja with fresh red chillies ,served along with aromatic basmati rice and fish fried oil.<br To tingle our taste buds we have the Ilish Pulao with generous chunks of Ilish . The smell was ambrosial . <br Next in the menu we had the quintessential shorshe Ilish. The pungent mustard along with the tantalizing smell of Ilish made way for a heavenly combination which is my all time favourite. As per our traditional recipe we also had the Ilish Paturi. The fish is coated with mustard paste , covered in a Banana leaf and steamed . This hilsa fish recipe is known for it 's awesomeness, always in high demand among Bengalis.<br <br Apart from these common Hilsa preparations ,they have something really out of the box . <br Giving a fusion touch the first in the list is Jholsano Ilish Roasted Ilish . The fish is pre marinated and cooked in slow temperature overnight to give that smoked flavour. <br Roshun Narkol diye Bhapa Ilish A traditional Bangladeshi preparation . A killer combination of garlic and Hilsa together. This will leave you speechless.A must try . <br Anaroshi Ilish Hilsa cooked with the sweet and tangy pineapple . The combination was definitely unique and really flavourful. <br Next I tried my very favourite bengali recipe Potol er Dorma which was made with a twist.<br Ilish Potol er Dorma, yes you heard me right .The traditional filling made out of prawns was replaced with Hilsa. To make your choices a bit more hard they also had the <br Ranga Ilish. The Hilsa was cooked in aromatic spices and had a onion based gravy. <br <br <br Embrace yourself with all this goodness.<br Price for 2 people 1600 <br Kick start the fest season with some mouth watering delicacies . <br <br

This, accompanied with the seasonal delicacy, with the harvesting of the much famed Hilsa, or Eelish, as we popularly call in our colloquial language. A name, which has emotion and passion attached with it, is much sought after during this particular season of the year. While the debate still lingers between the qualitative superiority between Ganga Eelish and the Padma Eelish, it is the sheer love which we have for Hilsa remains uncontested. <br/ <br/ Aaheli, the flagship Bengali restaurant of The Peerless Inn, Kolkata, has always been a huge proponent, when it comes to promoting Bengali cuisine all over Kolkata. The very first fine dining Bengali restaurant, Aaheli is running a very special ‘Eelish Utsav’ to celebrate the very best of Hilsa preparations, some old and traditional, very much within our grasp, while some from our very neighbouring country of Bangladesh, and then some with a subtle twist and turn, to give a new definition to the inhibited taste of Hilsa. <br/ <br/ Expect the very acquainted Sorshe Eelish, which has Hilsa cooked in mustard gravy, where the pungency compliments the oily texture of the Hilsa, and then perhaps the presence of the slit green chili, helping you to spice the bite up, as you mix the gravy with tartness along with the hot steaming rice. The Aam Tel Eelish is one preparation, which has been in limelight since quite some time now. A preparation, which sees Hilsa cooked with pickled mango, where you get a mix of oily and tangy flavours, creates a ripple of flavour to overwhelm your tastebuds. <br/ <br/ Choose between the quintessential Eelish er Paturi, which has Hilsa wrapped with banana leaf and then steamed, or the Roshun Narkol diye Bhapa Eelish, which has Hilsa steamed with garlic and coconut, a modern take on the Eelish er Paturi, with a completely different flavourtone which sees the predominance of garlic and the mild creamy coconut instead of the usual pungent mustard. A great buffet place for the people of kolkata at New market area.Aaheli is one amazing fine dine place located at New market area the that you just gotta try! They have wide variety of starters and main course to choose from. I tried both their veg and Non-Veg options and absolutely loved them! You get to have some lipsmacking kebabs, prawns to some scrumptious main course. it is a must try place.
