Arrived at our hotel just before 3pm and asked was there anywhere to grab a bite to eat. The hotelier rang Mamma Fina which closes at 3pm and they said they would stay open for us. If you are on a budget and don't want to wait long on busy days, this is the right place to stop for lunch or dinner. There is always a wide range of choice, the place is run by the family and they're all very nice and helpful

Tasty food but expensive. 37 euros for a canteen type meal for one!? Either overpriced or overcharged!
The quality of the food here was better than we had at the number 1 rated restaurant in Calasetta. Tuna was cooked to perfection, red mullet delicious everything we ate was well prepared. Excellent value too!
I popped in one evening to ask about local Sardinian dishes, and was offered a free sample of something spicy (with crab in it, called 'pilau '? . It was so good I went back next evening. The cooked vegetables were excellent, and their pieces of chicken were succulent. The dishes varied each day, and they made a vegetarian cous cous as well as monkfish. Excellent.
