It was difficult to hear each other speak because the acoustics under the veranda were terrible (the dining room was full). The staff were pleasant and responsive. To sum up, and without meaning to be derogatory, it's a brasserie, a quick bite with friends, but definitely not a romantic or gourmet experience.

You have to put this star rating in context of the type of restaurant it is. It's not fine dining. So a 3 fits for its type. But for its service etc it deserves... read more You have to put this star rating in context of the type of restaurant it is. It's not fine dining. So a 3 fits for its type. But for its service etc it deserves another star. This is a multi function restaurant, with tables on the street, a covered restaurant and bar. The fast food offer of moules (mussels) with fries and a drink was good value for money at €15. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive. And every everything was kept tidy tables etc. Would I come again ? Yes for a quick no nonsense meal.

And the gofte with sugar was not fresh in my opinion, because normally the sugar sticks to freshly baked gofre if put over it after the baking. But this gofre is as white as an English before summer .

A splash of white wine or other alcohol on the toast and some decorative garnish and the whole thing would have been worth its 'famouse ' title. Fries would be nicer too if they were fresh. Would definitely visit again, but wouldn 't order the Welsh..
