Sunday night most restaurants in town are closed. Maybe it was chefs night off. Terrible moule, overcooked fish, day old frites… not good at all! Shame as it’s a sweet little pub
Tried this place having read other reviews. Wished I hadn't. Somewhat lacklustre in feel and food matched that. Friendly and attentive staff but the food was distinctly average. I had salmon tartare, tasteless and served with cheap white toast. And then a salad that had melted goats cheese, again on cheap white bread and a few strips of streaky bacon, all plonked on top of the lettuce, cucumber and tomato. It would be unfair to give 1 star, but 3 would have been overly generous.
Nice place but expensive 3 drinks 19 euro. Nearly 5 euro for a small bottle of orange juice. Cheese chips drowned in oil. Could not explain what the forah of the day was offering.
Fabulous! We love this place. Really tasty food and a relaxing atmosphere. Be sure to try the Moules Du Chef (mussels served in white wine, cream and garlic) it 's the best I 've tasted anywhere. They also have a wide selection of Belgian beers which keeps me happy whilst the wife is shopping in the high street. There are fabulous desserts on offer too. The service is really quick and staff are friendly. Whilst I like to try out my 'o ' level French, the friendly staff are very helpful and happy to speak English. The menu is in both English and French. Eating out in France can be expensive but this is a very reasonably priced restaurant. We never visit Calais without coming here.
Visited to get some mussels north-French style and got precisely what we asked for. Also great wine and atmosphere. One of the very few places open in the center of Calais on a random day. Apart from mussels the place also serves meat and salads. Very lively until late hours. Totally worth.
