The owner/manager, Chris, was very welcoming and a great host - well-spoken and refined.We had Tom Yum Tofu soup and Tom Kha Chicken soup for starters. These soups were rich in ingredients, thickish and very flavoursome – unlike the runny standard soups in other Thai restaurants.Our mains comprised Jungle Beef Curry and Pad Phed vegetable stir-fry, with Thai jasmine rice. Interestingly, the dishes came with edible betel leaves. The jungle beef curry was spicy and the beef pieces were tender. The pad phed was a fitting complement to the jungle curry.Chris recommended ginger fizz drinks to go with our meals. This was akin to ginger beer with grated ginger and slices of lime and a stick of lemon grass as a stirrer. A rather unusual concoction and unique, pleasant taste. Incidentally, this restaurant encourages BYO and there are no surcharges imposed.The wait staff were polite and so was the chef , Tan. The dining environment was appropriately conducive and the decor added to the ambience.
