Byblos Cafe was a stand-out amongst all the places eaten at during a recent holiday to Cairns. The falafel roll was only $7 and was fresh and delicious. The nammoura (and all the lovely-looking Lebanese desserts!) were also highlights. I preferred eating in the pleasant outdoor courtyard. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Byblos Cafe:
They stated gourmet sandwiches but it was a poor selection of basic toasties with classic names at 9,90 each. The fries were oven cooked but only just, not crispy nor browned. Disappointed. View all feedback.
We had two breakfasts here, the plain old bacon and egg sandwich which was fresh and yummy, and the big breakfast which was likewise. Service quick, prices excellent and good coffee. It's a shame they aren't open in the evening
Reading some of the previous posts makes me think people watch too much realitycooking shows....... Byblos is and always has been exactly what it is.... Down to earth cafe n deli... No smaltzi nonsense.. Light airy cafe with shaded seats outside.... Local newspapers to read....... Brekky is simple and priced accordingly.....so somone whinges that they werent offered brown bread..... Lol.....never thought to ask eh?......kk my favorite bit about byblos is how they dont serve tea in crappy little pots and use kiddies teacups....... Just had brekky and its peacful and relaxing..... True med style where you feel you can just chill out...... Other places give me the feeling i have to go once i have finished... Anyway.... Five stars to a local delu cafe that keeps 1qait hones and simple... With some great middle eastern treats.
We ordered English breakfast and there's no choice of the type of bread. We were only given 2 pieces of white bread with butter spread on them, 2 eggs and a few bacon. Also there wasn't a big selection on the menu.
Chose Byblos for a special mother and daughter lunch. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Order came quickly. Ordered smoked salmon, avocado, tomato and lettuce roll. Roll was nicely toasted. Avocado was very brown and well past its prime. Tasted off. Other order was turkey, cream cheese and cranberry roll. Totally underwhelming. Needed some salad (perhaps on the side) for freshness. Coffee tasted fine, but was luke warm at best. Asked for a large mug and got the standard cup. Why didn't they tell me there was no large mug available when I ordered? Chai tea was not very nice. Also luke warm. Ambiance okay for quiet lunch. We are locals and won't be going back. Only positive point was the price. $25 all up. Would rather pay more for something decent though.
Have had a number of breakfast meals at this venue. Big servings of breakfast at affordable prices. Very nice meals, and better than some of the franchise outlets who offer breakfast in the Cairns city area. Service was fine and the surroundings nice. Will continue to eat here.
