Very quiet mid week and it’s a shame, meal we just ate in the restaurant was superb, plentiful, tasted great and fresh. Such great value for money, great service also View all feedback.
What Z3512DScraigm doesn't like about The Spice Tree:
We ordered takeout from this restaurant and it was the worst I have ever had in my life. I could only eat a chicken korma and I know my food - this tasted like a frozen curry from the freezer, as you could tell by the jelly on top. My wife got lamb Madras and it was also terrible, tasting like it was frozen. The chips were cold and not authentic Indian. When I called to complain, they didn't care and didn't want to h... I have been a very happy customer of the Spice Tree since it opened some 5 or more years ago. It was my Indian takeaway of choice where I would regularly buy takeaways. I bought one last Saturday and sadly it will be my last. The attention to detail in the ingredients used have definitely deteriorated. The meat is not great. Most disappointing was the cheese keema nan. Very little meat, and they used a cheap processed orange cheese slice. It looked totally disgusting, a lovely nan bread covered in the horrible orange sticky goo. Whilst only worth a couple of quid, it literally spoilt my whole experience that night and forever more as I was thinking what other cheap ingredients do they use. Surely they could have used real proper cheese, they are not being sold for less. I am still unhappy and will not be eating there again. ;
Nice food and good hospitality. 11 of us went for sons birthday. Everyone enjoyed food and drinks. Most of us had the 17.99 4 course which is not bad prices for a Friday.
Before hand I was a bit sceptical as the last meal we had from there was very ordinary.We booked a table thinking on a Friday night it would have been busy, disappointingly, we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were met at the door and shown to our table, drinks were served and meal was ordered. Within minutes the popadoms were on the table the lime pickle I'm sure was vindaloo strength). We polished them off and the mains were on the table, served by a very friendly and chatty waiter. The food was of a very high standard I had the chicken Rezalla).And its not very often you clear your plates, but I assure you, they were cleared.Will definitely be returning. we also had a vegetarian dish, which again was one of the best dishes I've tasted.
Had a lovely night. Food was lovely. Definitely be returning to the spice tree soon. There's loads to choose from I would recommend the chicken tikka korai With mushroom rice.
Visited again as it’s very local, been here many times and it never disappoints.
