Shocking food steak was a piece of fat. forgot the birthday cake for my partner star missed bark dripping sauce was late and then forget about 2 young girls who serve us could not smile even if she tried it terrible.

What a lovely evening we had at Brewers Lodge. Three course meal with free bottle of wine and a cupcake each. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Ambience was perfect. Steak was delicious. Toilets very clean.

Was booked in this evening for the Valentine’s meal (Me,my partner and our two friends) but cancelled purely down to the attitude of the staff member on the phone. My friend received a phone call Monday asking for us to call with what we wanted...for food. So when I called up first,spoke to a nice guy,advised that my partner would have the steak and I’d have the vegetarian option (I was not aware that this was a sharing platter) He wrote my order down and I thought everything was fine. Five minutes later I had a phone call back from one of the girls (I took her name but I’m not going to be that person and slate it all over Facebook) Her attitude and tone was disgusting! She said “right you can’t have the steak and the veggie option,it’s a sharing platter” so I apologised and stated I wasn’t aware of that and sorry I hadn’t looked at the menu,my fault,but that’s fine we will just have the veggie option and my partner will pay for a separate steak. She continued with the attitude and again said “it doesn’t work like that,it’s a set sharing platter,so you have one or the other” So again I said it was no issue and we would share the veggie option,as I don’t eat meat and he wouldn’t mind. Instead of accepting what I said,she continued to say “I did tell your friend this when she booked the table so you can either share the steak or share the veggie option” so again I reminded her that I don’t eat meat so we would order the veggie option and that would be fine. I was polite,said my please and thank yous. Firstly,I understand that not everywhere has great choices for vegetarians and I don’t expect anyone to bend over backwards for me. However,I don’t see the hassle in cooking a separate piece of steak for my partner that we would have paid for. Secondly, I don’t appreciate being spoken to the way that I was and why it was such a fuss made. After speaking with my friend,she also informed me that the same staff member had an attitude with her aswell. It’s played on me since Monday and I was not prepared to pay the £40 for the set sharing platter tonight as I was not looking forward to it at all,so we made the decision to cancel. I think it’s only fair that my friend is given her deposit back,as we haven’t really cancelled through fault of our own. It’s a shame,as this seems like a nice place with good food and it’s somewhere local. I haven’t written this for anyone to loose their job or get in trouble,but they certainly need to be spoken to so this doesn’t happen again. Thank you for your time

Sunday carvery was cold was wasted most of the food as it was so cold, the truthahn was nice the veg cold, also the gravy was cold, I noticed a few evenings were wrapped on the tables, another cache cat roaming around the restaurant

The restaurant has a beautiful room, but unfortunately the mattress was terrible. The soup was cold for supper and the steak was also served cold. I had to send it back to be reheated, but it still couldn't be eaten. The saving grace was when a friendly cat joined us and ate the meat I couldn't touch. The bathroom was beautiful, but I was appalled to see the water filter on the walls completely clogged with dirt after using the water kettle to make tea.
