I noticed the sign for Wetherspoon Pub above a building and felt compelled to eat there. The name of the pub was The Malcolm Uphill. Upon entering the building around 2pm, I was impressed by the size of the dining area and how full it was. The level of cleanliness was outstanding, especially considering how busy it was. When I ordered at the bar, the well-dressed young man who served me was polite and helpful, explaining the tea refill area. Our meal was promptly brought to our table as I returned. I was speechless by the cleanliness, peaceful atmosphere, and quick service.
This pub is the perfect size and has a charming atmosphere. The food arrived promptly, though it could have been a bit hotter. However, the burgers were delicious, perfectly cooked and served in a crispy bun. The staff and other customers were friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great experience.
Ordered Jacket Potato, cheese and beans from the menu only for it to be delivered with hardly any beans. Complained to the waitress who told me to buy more beans from the app or the bar. As a regular I’m extremely disappointed.
Good food, fast service with great staff.
Popped here before a trip to London. Great theming throughout the property. Staff were friendly, efficient. Service was fast. My chicken burger was somewhat dry but everything else was as expected. It's exactly what you expect from a Spoons and clearly popular with the liquid as it was only 1:00pm on a Thursday and BUSY!

Service poor Food poor Steak had a lot of grizzle Was warm Ordered cider but wasn't asked the waitress to change it and she wasn't very keen to do it, she then re ordered it and actually smelt the fresh pint and gave it to me! She explained it was the last of the barel I had to go and change it again !
Absolutely shocking! Food arrives cold. Both breakfast cold. Last time it was a fridge cold apparently grilled tomato. This time everything was cold. Sent it back and waited another ten mins to be given cold breakfast again. All sent back now off for lunch somewhere as I'm starving.
It’s fair to say it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a Wetherspoons The manager who was on shift on the 29th September was totally out of her depth. The person in question has no customer service skills no manors and no respect towards customers When I asked for a receipt for a void transaction she couldn’t provide one and the attitude was just and check you bank When I asked again for a receipt she said I getting the door staff to kick you out. On a positive note the door staff were very understanding and agreed with me etc well done to the gentleman who I spoke to
Haven’t been in a while, met with friend but extremely disappointed, glasses not clean, lipstick, water marks well used glasses
First time that we have been here since lockdown. Yes quite a while. As usual a great choice of real ales. I would like to give a special mention to the waiter who was working in our area. He cleaned every table as soon as it was vacated. I think his name was Jac he is a credit to this company.

It's exactly what you would expect from Wetherspoons. Some of the furniture has seen better days, but the tables are always cleaned promptly, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Prompt service and great beer selection. The staff was quick, and the restrooms were clean. Keep up the excellent work, everyone!
Without a doubt, this is one of the best Wetherspoons I've been to. It's always great to have a solid Wetherspoons in the area. The food is generally quite consistent in terms of portion sizes and quality, although during busy times, standards can sometimes slip. I've only needed to send food back a few times because it was lukewarm, the portion was a bit small, or it was missing a key ingredient. The staff here are excellent and genuinely friendly. However, at certain times of the day or on specific days, it can be difficult to find a table. Service for drinks is usually quick, and food service is generally efficient, but you might face longer waits during peak times. This is largely due to the popularity of this location in Caerphilly and the great value it offers. That said, like many places, prices have gradually increased quite a bit over time.
Wonderful venue for lunch and afternoon drinks. Great atmosphere during the day, changes somewhat after six at night. Food selection is excellent, plenty of beers both on tap and by the bottle. Cocktails available, also reasonably priced.
Racist staff. Waitress was rude and clearly treating our table differently. She gave us the silent treatment while chatting very friendly to the other tables. She put our food on the table without a single word and walked off. I was quite taken back with what was happening. Spoke to one of the manager, she was lovely and said it would be addressed. However while we were having our meal another two managers came and started to give excuses for the waitresses behaviour. We have already spoken to the manager, it was their responsibility to deal the employee and not question us. The whole situation was uncomfortable and we had to leave. I have lived in Caerphilly for many years and I’ve never experienced anything like this. It was very clear why we were treated differently. I will never go to this Wetherspoons again. If you are a person of colour I would avoid this place.

It's a Witherspoon's, so you know what to expect. Overall, it's not too bad and definitely better than the other pub options near the castle.
I'm not quite sure why this place is named the Malcolm Uphill since it's a Wetherspoon's, but I had intended to visit another restaurant that ended up being fully booked.

Since breakfast and eating was amazing, both my mother and I are vegan and wetherspoons had meals for all diets, in the center of the city also! easier access and perfect for meals, definitely recommend
Nizza cleaner venue, generous guide lines for the guided and clearly visible. friendly and informative staff who knew their products. good selection of food and drinks at really cheap trips. 1 or 2 idiotic youngs there, but the personal treated them quickly, nice mood and relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent food, there has been a change of certain items on the menu (which the kids were not impressed with) but all round a great experience and staff were very helpful!
Fast service, 4 people ordered eating and drinking all quickly served and tasteful and filling, good customer service, staff were helpful and friendly
