This was our first visit and the children enjoyed playing on the s... read more Recently i visited the historical Morgan Jones Park in Caerphilly with my sister and nephews. This was our first visit and the children enjoyed playing on the swings, slide and climbing frame, before visiting the splash pad with water jets. At lunch we enjoyed a picnic and there was plenty of green space. After lunch the boys visited the skate park and we enjoyed a walk around the flower gardens and the boys used the outside gym. After our walk we purchased drinks from the Old Library Cafe. This was a fantastic park with tennis courts, football and cricket pitches, and a bowling green. The boys continued playing in the park until about 18:30, but before heading home the boys suggested picking up a takeaway tea (to share with my husband and brother in-law). Earlier in the day we met a local family who recommended the Chinese takeaway Golden Valley on Mill Road. We managed to find the takeaway and ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice, chips, vegetable spring rolls, prawn crackers, sticky lemon chicken, duck l, 'orange and beef in black bean sauce. At the takeaway we received lovely customer service and the food was cooked fresh to order. The food was still really hot when we got home. All dishes tasted scrumptious and were made with lots of fresh vegetables. Sometime in the near future we will return to both the park (hidden gem close to all amenities including the shops and castle) and Golden Valley because the food tasted fantastic and was excellent value for money.

Curry like water noodles gone really thin like worms .even changed the chips . Anyway passing on the cheaper product to the customer will find them out in the end. I certainly won't be eating here again . cheaper product more expensive

All veggie apart fr... read more We have used this take away for over 20 years. However, after the last abysmal experience we will be looking elsewhere. Ordered a take away. All veggie apart from Chicken curry. Person taking order repeated back the order. Confirmed it and it would be 20 mins. We went to collect 20 mins later. Only to be kept waiting for a further 20 mins plus. Half way through she asked how we wanted the sweet and sour to be cooked??? Also mentioned that Chicken curry was not vegan? A bit confused by that. Finally the food was ready took it home only to discover NO CHICKEN CURRY. We rang and were told it was not on the order. It was pointed out that not only had we ordered it the person taking the order had repeated it back. No we were told it was not included????? If we wanted the Chicken curry we would have to go back and collect it or they would deliver and charge not only for the curry but also delivery. No apology for them messing up the order. No apology for overcharging us for the food which DID NOT include the Chicken Curry. We said no we wanted the Curry and we expected them to deliver it free of charge. They had messed up the order. They had charged for food that was not included and why should we have to wait another 30 40 mins for the food. We then had a knock at the door approx 20 mins later. The Chicken Curry had arrived and they wanted £5.25 for the curry and delivery. The delivery lady was firmly told NO. We paid for the order, they messed it up and they had charged and we were not paying again. We received £29.90 worth of food according to their menu but were charged £32.45 and they wanted a further £5.25 on top. WILL NOT BE USING THEM AGAIN. THEY WERE SLOW, THE FOOD WAS NOT WHAT WAS ORDERED AND THEY OVERCHARGED. Even worse they would not see that it was their error and they refused to put it right. Anyone can make a mistake but to refuse to acknowledge your mistake and put it right is wrong.
