Popped in for a quick lunch today. The staff were really really friendly, and there was a great selection of food, almost of all it home made and fresh. We had sandwiches on fresh bread, and I had the lamb cawl, a Welsh soup, which I think was the nicest soup I've ever eaten. Good value too I thought. View all feedback.
What cennenypedr doesn't like about Glanmors:
Having closed their cafe in the precinct, I thought their efforts mat have been concentrated on the bakery, it seems this is not so. Two cups of luke warm hot chocolate and two very stale chocolate cookies were served this morning. View all feedback.
During our visit to Caerphilly Castle, we decided to grab a bite at Glanmor's Bakery. As frequent travelers, we can confidently say that this is one of the best bakeries we have ever visited. We only wish we had more time to return, but unfortunately, we were staying in Cardiff. If you find yourself in Caerphilly, do not miss the chance to stop by Glanmor's. You will not be let down - in fact, you will be thrilled.
Absolutely love their cakes, custard slices, ginger cake and best Welsh cakes ever! Good portions beautifully presented.
I recently visited a bakery on Cardiff Rd and was asked to leave because I was not wearing a mask. I explained that I had a medical exemption but they insisted I had to shout my order from the street. When I mentioned that this was discriminatory, another staff member rudely told me that only those with masks were allowed inside. I felt disrespected and embarrassed, and despite lodging a complaint, I did not receive an apology. After being a customer for over 30 years, I will not be returning. It's disappointing to see local businesses act this way. I ended up going to Greggs for lunch, where I was welcomed without any issues.

Have grown up visiting Glanmor's and usually feel that it's value for money but last week my partner and I ordered two jacket potatoes with beans and cheese, two coffees and one custard slice and it came to over £25. When I checked the menu I realised that one jacket potato cost £6.50 plus an extra £1.50 per topping. Therefore we paid £9.50 per jacket. I doubt we'll visit again but if we do I'll take a closer look at the menu and go for a much cheaper option.
