What Richard A dislikes about Cwrt Rawlin:

When we finally went to order food, my husband wanted the mixed grill. I asked the barmaid if there would be anything else on the plate besides what was listed on the menu, and she told me there would only be chips. This was important since my husband is slightly autistic and can only eat what's explicitly mentioned. I also requested that there not be a "snotty" egg. However, when the mixed grill arrived, it came with mushrooms and tomatoes, which were unexpected. I sent it back, asking them to replace the egg, as it looked inedible. The second attempt returned with the mushrooms and tomatoes removed, but it still had a hard yolked egg. The waiter claimed we had asked for a "non-runny" egg; I clarified that asking for a non-snotty egg didn’t mean I wanted it completely hard. On the third try, the meal came out with onion rings that weren’t listed on the menu. I sent it back again and requested a refund. During this time, the barmaid inaccurately told my husband that I hadn't specified anything that shouldn’t be on his plate. Meanwhile, the manager was just a couple of tables away, completely ignoring the situation. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
We went there for a meal and could not get any as they said they were hosting a party but could not know that until we sat down and probably waste time looking at the menu. If there was a sign to tell customers that they were closed that time we would not search for parking and sat on their chairs, let alone perusing the menu. People need not to book fir a table in thus place as far as I remember. So, it turns out that customers need to call on Saturdays before they go. Only if they do not want to be disappointed like we did. Anyways, after the response below I figured out that it is not a norm and would give it a try. I recommend everyone to give it a second chance.
Most amazing staff, a big thank you to Aimee for an expectational service who went above and beyond to make us feel like home. Good hearty food that everyone loves. One thing I can fault is not promoting lovely Aimee.

This is a new policy that I had no idea about, so I wanted to give other patrons a heads up. I’m baffled as to why they feel the need to implement this charge, but it clearly seems to be a profitable scheme for them. I've never seen the parking lot full, which is strange for a location that's quite far from the town center. I received no prior warning while at the bar about this new "scheme," and I'm sure many others will find themselves in the same situation. They claim to be sorry about it. Kudos to Cwt Rawlin for finding a way to profit during a cost-of-living crisis.
I went to a friend's birthday party and ended up with a £100 parking fine. The paid parking system was recently implemented, and the staff could have easily informed guests about it while they were at the bar. It's quite uncommon to have to pay for parking at a restaurant like this, so I feel it’s just basic customer service to let visitors know about this unusual arrangement. I definitely would not recommend this place.
