The Savera cafe is under new management so decided to give it a try, staff were lovely and Kate and Ben, the new owners were very welcoming. We had a hot drink, cheese toastie and a portion of chips, food was lovely and the portions were a good size! Would definitely recommend and will be going back to try their poached eggs! What L7847THpaulr doesn't like about Cafe Savera:
Savers has recently come under new ownership. The new owners have made some changes, such as adding plastic tablecloths to the wooden tables. Personally, I find this choice to be rather outdated and unappealing. Additionally, it is not environmentally friendly. I recommend that the plastic tablecloths be removed and that the tables, which were a bit worn, be refinished instead. View all feedback.
DISGUSTING.no matter how nice the food or how quiet the atmosphere in all my life I have never experienced such horrendous customer service. They say first impressions are important...well this was definitely a shock! I witness three staff members attack this elderly customer after he politely asked that he didn 't want beans on his breakfast. They outright in front of all of thier customers argued that he lied and he should pay for another meal. (Baring in mind he hadn 't touched his breakfast) he replied a little embarrassed (considering the entire cafe was watching) that he doesn 't like beans so why would he ask for them? and asked to have his money back, as he was sat down three members of staff where stood above him arguing at this one elderly man. The older staff member replied indignantly oh, well I don 't know about that! reluctant to give his money back! My mother, sister, cousin and I could not believe what we witness. I have worked as a chef and know how important customer service is, and nothing should be too much trouble, but I think it 's just plain common sense to show your elders courtesy. I won 't be comming back there again or recommending savera cafe to any of my friends or family...and God forbid my nan or grandfather.
I have passed this Cafe many times but first time I popped in to have a well earned pit stop. The place is immaculately clean and the food looked lovely. We had a tea and coffee in mugs with a homemade scone and big blueberry muffin. The no frills cuppas were lovely and the cakes scrummy. The staff were friendly and attentive and the price was excellent value. It has a great range of meals, snacks, salads, sandwiches and the usual hot burgers, Jacket potatoes, pies etc. Ideal for a quick drink and refuel. We enjoyed the staff and their gentle banter with the regular customers.
I went in with my friend having previously visited over the past 18 months and always found good service. As no one had acknowledged that we had arrived in a non busy cafe, after five minutes I went to stand at the counter. The woman with the long dark hair then said in a panicky voice and a glower that ' I can 't serve you I am doing five salads , it 's got really busy ' and that was the service. If she had said 'would you like a coffee while you are waiting , it might be abour 10 minutes, is that ok? ' then we could have stayed. So effectively we could not be served because two of the tables in the cafe were occupied? Does that constitute rush hour in your cafe. Won 't be returning for such poor and embarrassing service.
Went here for a breakfast and enjoyed all we had food was very nice and also cheap will visit again and pass on to others .
Another great breakfast also tried ham and mushroom omelette with chips and side salad, cost about £4 and was immense!! Really busy in there, but still had fast service and piping hot food. My only gripe would be to please make the teas a bit stronger ; This café is a little gem, we love it!
