Nice bar, only the waiter wasn't happy that our group of 8 people wanted to pay separately.
New decor. Nice welcome. To be seen in the duration but it is a very good start.
Aux Grand Hommes 135 Rue Saint Pierre Caen This café/bar/restaurant was only a short stroll from our Royal Hotel in Caen, and we had two filet poulet followed by crème brulee and a chardonnay wine and beer pression. The service was good and the bill came to 34 euros. Regards Gary Saunders
Located right in the centre of Caen, with inside seating on 2 floors, plus outside under a canopy. Pleasant and characterful interior. English spoken by some waiters, and English menu available also. A wide range of French dishes are on the menu, and a very good range of wines. The plat de jour is good value. However we enjoyed the duck with honey main, café gormand and an excellent Cahors red. The duck was cooked very well. Service was efficent and friendly. We thought the meal was decent value.
Was previously known as Cafe Latin, but hasn't changed its philosophy of good, simple food brought quickly and with cheerful service. Surprisingly good range of wines typified by an excellent malbec from Cahors, at a very reasonable price. We always make time to have lunch there on our trips to Normandy.
