My wife and I called spur of the moment driving back to Caen from Mont St Michel. We ordered the 16 euro dejeuner menu along with a bottle of Morton Beaujolais. The owner and staff were wonderful: 3 amuse bouche and a complementary dessert. we had rather high expectations given the star and Gault Millau rating, but were disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the setting is basic, nothing cosy or trendy (and no eye for detail, e.g. all pictures hung oblique). Excellent cuisine, bravo to the chief! However, minimalist and unjustified server. the glass of wines served according to the dishes of my wife are too small (7 or 8 cl, no more.) on the other hand, those served with a bottle already purchased are huge. I discuss it with the server at the end, and he says it is indicated on the menu that the glasses in agreement with the dishes are only half-glasses. Well? I ask for the menu, then he says it's not specified in the menu, but he said to the oral. Good. Why half a big one? because for people it was too much, they were drunk ah. in simple dishes, very good, but the service not up to and a little rapiat, we feel no pleasure to receive, it is a shame because for this price.
We went there for my wife's birthday. warm welcome with a touch of humor during our exchanges. service parfais. we took 2 menus 6 courses and 1 menu 4 dishes with the option 4 wines . of quality, finesse, freshness. that happiness in the mouth. Thank you very much for this beautiful evening
What a wonderful evening! It was the first time for me in a starred restaurant and I'm not disappointed. On the contrary, it was delicious to z. thanks again for these discoveries of exquisite flavors!
