The atmosphere was definitely the highlight of our visit. The morel mushroom soup was delightful, but at $10 for just a cup, it felt a bit steep. We also had to request a bread basket. We decided to share a steak sandwich, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. Despite asking for it to be cooked medium-rare, it came out well done with a lot of fat and gristle. I am writing this review 8 years after our meal here — because I haven’t stopped thinking about it ever since!My husband and I were on a road trip and hungry for lunch, so we took the nearest exit and landed ourselves at this cafe in this tiny Michigan town. It’s absolutely CHARMING inside and the staff was so kind.Morel mushrooms were in season, so we had their freshly made morel mushroom soup… Oh, how I wish I could have a bowl of it again. It was th best soup of my life!
I know sometimes people feel like an 'average ' rating is not good, but that is not the case here. Everything was good and I would certainly recommend this place if you are in Cadillac. The Mushroom soup was amazing, and I would be giving 5 stars if the rating was for the soup alone. The rest of the meal was solidly good food and prepared well. Definitely enjoyed our meal and would go again. The staff was nice and very accommodating and the drinks and drink were good as well.
My wife and I had an excellent lunch. The atmosphere and quality was above expectations. I can see this establishment being there for a long time
