The moussaka, patatas bravas (with... read more The bar has excellent beer but we were really wowed by the food, which has a homemade quality in the best sense of the word. The moussaka, patatas bravas (with a curry sauce for a new twist), migas, and the goat-cheese salad were all excellent. We ended up eating at Taberna El Rincon 3 times during our stay in Cáceres because the quality of the food was excellent and the staff was so friendly.

The waitress answered abruptly, nev... read more I used to go to this place quite often 2-3 years ago. The staff were friendly, helpful, professional. Now it's the opposite. The waitress answered abruptly, never even said hello, informed us about the web in an angry/arrogant manner, as though she were doing as a favor for taking our order and waiting on us. Quite unpleasant experience. A pity. Hopefully she will realize she cannot treat customers like that or else, she will have to move on and let someone truly professional run this business. Bad image for Cáceres too.

Service was professional but not esp.friendly. The bill was 30 euros. We would not go back here.

Normally I would avoid eating around the Plaza Mayor in Spain as the restaurants there are usually overpriced tourist traps, but we arrived in Cáceres late and... read more Normally I would avoid eating around the Plaza Mayor in Spain as the restaurants there are usually overpriced tourist traps, but we arrived in Cáceres late and hungry and so settled for the first place we came across leaving the hotel. Luckily, El Rincón is a genuinely good restaurant serving typical dishes from the region. The have a good selection of local wines and beers and the portions are large and made with high quality produce.
