What Tara W dislikes about The Rivers Eatery:
I really don't understand the hype surrounding this place. It was so noisy that we could hardly hold a conversation. The gluten-free pizza crust was essentially a flavorless tortilla. The cheese was a generic three-cheese blend that didn’t impress at all. I ordered a cranberry chicken pizza that had only four cranberries and eight pieces of dry chicken. The plain cheese and garlic pizza tasted like a poorly made ques... View all feedback.

Come for a pint, stay for a pizza! Great slice of Cable in the summer time and an easy place to rest with the family. Can be a little busy on the weekends but otherwise always an enjoyable experience.
We love coming here. Every pizza is excellent! Our usual order is a Nemadji and a Marengo. The Nemadji is so unique. The Thai peanut sauce is a very flavorful, balanced sauce. The cranberry chicken is perfectly tender with a hint or tart sweetness. The feta adds a briney sharpness and peas add a perfectly sweet popping sensation. I would never order this anywhere else, but you must try it here! My wife loves the Marengo pizza. The barbecue sauce is sweet and zesty, the ground beef has a nice caramelization on it, the mushrooms add an earthy meatyness, and the blue cheese takes it to the next level. Honestly all of their pizzas and salads are so good. If you're looking for a really good starter here, the bread and dipping sauce is really good. The bread has a crispy crust and is so pillowy on the inside, and it comes with their marinara and a scoop of pesto, so good. Their toasted potato salad is also excellent. It's unlike any potato salad I've ever had. It's definitely a must stop place!
The person creating the recipes here is truly doing an outstanding job; everything is well-balanced and delicious. It's a nice touch that they cook their pizzas using a real fire! The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is friendly, the food is fabulous, and the menu is very creative. We sat outside on a perfect evening, enjoying our meal while listening to live music in the Northwoods. What more could one ask for? I will definitely be back!
The restaurant has a fun atmosphere, but the experience was marred by a few issues. First, we had to wait in line to order our food and drinks, and then we struggled to find a clean table. We were hesitant to leave the suggested tip, as I typically don't tip at fast-food places like Dairy Queen or McDonald’s. While I understand the appeal of a wood-fired pizza oven, waiting 45 minutes for our order felt excessive. Additionally, there were very few toppings considering the price. Our bill for two pizzas and two beers was $45, and to make matters worse, one of the beers was cold while the other was not. As for parking, it's available on the street with a sidewalk.

We had a great time watching our food being prepared, and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. The oven had a roaring flame, and it was entertaining to see the chef spinning the pizzas inside. The highlight for the kids was when the pizza maker tossed the dough into the air—it brought big smiles! Everything was quick, homemade, and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this place for a family outing! And don't miss the Galactic Face Slap beer; it was fantastic!
Our family had a fantastic experience at The Rivers Eatery! We ordered a variety of pizzas and salads, and everyone enjoyed their meal. I highly recommend trying Tilly's Cheesy Garlic Bread with pesto marinara sauce — it was absolutely delicious! Plus, Tilly's Pie is just next door, so you can grab a loaf of bread and a slice of pie afterwards. The service was outstanding, and the restaurant’s ambiance was really unique, featuring some amazing bikes with fascinating backstories. We will definitely be coming back next year during our visit!
We eat here often enough to where I should have already left a review. The food is consistently amazing, the staff is friendly, kind and efficient... and the ambience is comfortable cozy and offers much versatility with outdoor seating. I probably would have missed another opportunity for a review this place but my 11 year old, picky eater, said it was immaculately good pizza. And those words are worthy of noting. You won 't regret a trip to this place!
They leave their website up to take orders and take your money but in reality the place was closed. website showed them open and took online orders.

Stopped here on our way into the woods, lots of reading material, guidebooks and a few souvenirs. Coffee shop book store vibe with a pizza joint in back. Good place to stop for a last minute flora guide or camp read. I’ll be back next time I’m up camping in this area.
One of our absolute favorite places to dine in the greater Hayward area. The customer service has consistently been outstanding. They offer a great selection of Hahn beers, and the pizzas are simply delicious. The salads are fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. The gift and book shop at the front of the building is delightful—I always manage to find something special there. Don’t forget to check out the cake shop next door!
Pizza and salads are great, good beer selection. As good as it gets for wood fired pizza Up North. Be sure to out the retro bikes and ski gear that adorn the walls as well as local artwork by disadvantaged artists. friendly staff as well, plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor. A dinner for me every time in beautiful Cable
Great atmosphere. Good service. When I visited there was a ton of outdoor seating which was awesome. Good variety of pizzas to choose from. I would love to see sandwiches on the menu. I think they could make amazing hot sandwiches. The pizza was great, wish it was bigger, but it was great. High quality ingredients in perfect proportions and the crust was perfect. I highly recommend it.
