Even in the South, it can be tough to find a restaurant that serves truly homemade, delicious food. As a southern lady, I can assure you that it better be good, because we won’t hold back on sharing our opinions! And let me tell you, it is *so* good that you'll want to give your momma a playful slap on the back! The Dixie is truly satisfying and delights your taste buds, offering great value for your money—especially these days. We’re lucky to have such a gem. At The Dixie, you’ll discover everything I’ve mentioned and more. The only downside? I couldn’t get more of their incredible Peanut Butter Pie! Their chicken strips are hand-breaded with care; the batter is light and flaky, perfectly coating thick pieces of chicken. Don’t worry about taking leftovers home—these chicken strips won’t dry out in your fridge! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. For the past seven years since we first started dining there, the attentive and hardworking staff has made everyone feel right at home, so you won’t feel like a stranger. In fact, you’re likely to make new friends! Thankfully, we live close enough that I can easily pop in or call ahead to get that delicious Peanut Butter Pie that I missed out on yesterday. After we settled into a cozy booth, she quickly served us our drinks and fresh coffee. We decided on blueberry pancakes and biscuits with gravy. There were plenty of options, including chocolate gravy, but we opted for the classic instead. The food was delightful and had a homemade feel to it. It was evident that many regular customers visit this spot, which is a great indication of reliable service and quality.
