A large group of us dined here (c/o Groupon vouchers). The premises are on the small side, make a booking if your group is big. I's located on a busy strip of Burwood Road, just up from Westfield. We just about walked past it.

What Marjorie Hill doesn't like about ThaiPhoon:
The service and food here are both very average. Ordered the chilli basil chicken and chicken tom yum soup for 16.90 each. The tom yum just tasted ordinary but as for the chilli basil chicken it was very disappointing as it only came with around 4 small pieces of chicken. The dishes here are not worth the price at all. I noticed that this was the old Thai in a box and went inside. I ordered the Entencurry. Was delicious, but hardly a flesh despise the high costs. Not good value for money. A strong reminder why I do not eat in this place.

We just about walked past it. POSITIVES - The food was surprisingly authentic and very tasty and we were all well and truly satiated by the end of our meal. NEGATIVES - they brought out our mains before our entree. Rice per person is $3.50 (per bowl) so expensive when most of us can go through 2 bowls of rice each. Having said that, I would definitely go back to Thaipoon for a good Thai meal.
The casual thai restaurant is located directly outside of burwood westfield on the main strip of burwood road and is a nice place to eat a bite. Order and pay at theke and they will spend the food to them. I am pleased that they can mix with the noodle dishes and match what they wanted or select some well-known favorites and add the desired protein. we had the pad thai with duck, pad saw ew with lamb, and some money bags. the portion sizes are generous (if they are not a big eater, they have light enough to take themselves later). both pastel dishes were delicious and filled. good amount of meat in the dressed. the purses were beautiful and crisp.
All, you want to write something about this location. they serve amazing Thai foods.Ambience Food really liked the jungle huhn curry and told the cute dame cook that it was amazing. Also loved there plate of starter the curry buffer went absolutely tasty with the hot and spicy sauce again Padbr
The décor was well thought out a cross between Subway and KFC . We ordered two plates for two adults and two children, Salt and Pepper squid and a plate of Chicken sate . Looking around the restaurant other local patrons seemed to have very substantial portion sizes so we felt our order was sufficient. When the dish arrived each had a blob of rice that was all oddly discoloured and looked distinctly mixed fresh and old. The plate was over garnished with bits of salad that were not appetising at all. The main part of the dish Chicken and Squid was barely enough to satisfy one person. At roughly $17.00 a plate we would have been better off picking up some take away somewhere else ! This is the first time in history I have walked away for a Thai restaurant hungry and feel distinctly over charged .
