We visited this restaurant for dinner while in La Scie Eisberge. Customers order and pay for their food at the front desk and then seats are available after ordering. The dining room is nothing special, but it gets the job done. It's a good spot for a quick bite to eat. We ordered chicken and soup. What Tyrel Ankunding doesn't like about Critch's Snack Bar:
Tourists who want to experience local cuisine and homemade dishes will be disappointed here. The restaurant was clean but lacking in atmosphere, with outdated and smelly bathrooms. When we asked for water, we were brought bottled water without glasses and were not informed that they do not serve tap water, forcing us to purchase the bottled water.

My husband were touring the area when we stopped in for lunch. We both ordered to fish and chips, one of our favorites when the cod is fresh. The fish was very well done and not heavily battered the way we like it. The fries were frozen. That is a total negative. Fish and chips must have home made fries to authentic. Why so many restaurants insists on serving frozen pre processed foods I will never understand. The cost is higher and the time saved is not worthy of the change. Tourists travelling want to savor local fair and home made fries is one thing that Newfoundlanders and tourists alike enjoy. The restaurant was clean but a large open space with no atmosphere. The bathrooms were smelly and old. We asked for water and were brought two bottles of water with no glasses and were not told they did not serve the local water and therefore we had to buy the water. Would not return for the fish and chips, although they serve a complete menu, other items on the menu included items not local to the area or province.
"Antique" is the best word: Charming, pricey, touristy, and of slightly questionable ethical code. In all honesty, the only reason I stumbled into La
Excellent neighbourhood bar in an otherwise pretty tourist-oriented location.
Great place for tapas, amazing croquetas. Friendly staff, great place for trying Spanish tapas without fear. Sangria is really good and fresh, made to order.

The server was friendly, but complained a lot about their busy and long day while serving us, which was not ideal. The food came out quickly and was very good! The chicken was cooked perfectly - flavorful, crispy, and moist. The soup was also delicious and homemade. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal and left feeling full.
