Well this place was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting much but it was pretty tatsy ramen! You can customize the ramen a bit if you want (I just got the shoyu with no customizations, perfect for me). What really stood out was the pork and chicken broth, it is quite different from other ramen shops. I guess this is the taste of the Yokohama style ramen. Overall decent place for a quick bowl of ramen. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Yaguchiya Ramen:
Very disappointed because we came for the good reviews. Skip the steam pork bun because it’s so underwhelming and definitely not worth $3.5 for that small portion and super dry pork. The ramen noodles are very hard even we ordered normal. Cha siu in the ramen was very dry and bland. I had never had such a disappointing bowl of ramen.I give it a 3 star because it’s a small business and the ambience is quite cozy. But... View all feedback.
Absolutely incredible broth. This iekei style really is an excellent balance of elegant flavour creaminess. Toppings are simple, but when the bowl is so good, you barely even notice (4.5/5).
I have had better ramen elsewhere, but I really enjoy the lunch special here and its affordable price. I often come here with my coworkers. It's a great place to grab a meal and have a conversation.
I heard a lot of great things about this ramen shop near Metrotown. I had never tried iekei style ramen before, as I usually go for tonkatsu style. However, I found it to be quite delicious! I ordered their house special, which is their shoyu ramen, and it was one of the best tasting shoyu ramen dishes I've had. I will definitely be returning to this place.
This will be our go-to ramen spot near Metrotown! It is conveniently located on Kingsway, making it a central location. The broth in their ramen is exceptional, rich and flavorful. Customers can choose the firmness of their noodles, and I always opt for the firmer option. The portion sizes are quite generous - I ordered a medium and it was 1.5 times their regular size. I struggled to finish my bowl because I was so full. One area for improvement is the cha siu (pork) - it is quite ordinary and lacks flavor, being on the lean side. If possible, I would prefer to order a plain ramen to fully appreciate the delicious broth.
Their soup bases are so unique in the sense that you can add your adjust it to suit your own taste: add your own ginger, chili bean paste and garlic. One of the best ramen places I’ve had!
