I'll make this sweet and short because I was really hoping to find a good bubble tea and sushi place but Sushi Q Tea was a huge let down.
Always amazing bubble tea. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended! Sushi is very good as well. A must try is their Poke Bowl.
My family, friends and I have come here numerous times because it is so close. Plus, all the staff are super nice. SQ is a cafeteria-ish establishment with a ton of Asian and western mags. There are about 6 tables and 2 sofas. I can imagine it's a nice place to study or hang out by yourself. They have wifi.We started off with their bubble teas. or rather the slushes and smoothies. They are excellent. The raspberry, strawberry banana and piña colada flavours are the best. Their taro and coconut will do the job in a pinch. Their pearls have a lower caloric content. That's a bonus. They're chewier (which I love). They also offer coconut jelly which is excellent in the piña colada. We eventually branched into their entrees. The teriyaki chicken and chicken curry are really good. Though the teriyaki is not saucy. California and dynamite rolls are good. We've had their tempura. This dish is okay. Yam pieces are cut unevenly. The next time I have a hankering for it, I'll likely go somewhere else. They have interesting-sounding maki-inspired sandwiches which I haven't tried yet.TIPS: Ask for half sweet slushes if you don't like it too sugary. Ask for more teriyaki sauce if you like to sauce it up. Their menu is limited but that's what makes them quick. They are a part of JustEat.ca.PARKING: There's a small parking lot which usually has a spot or 2. CONCLUSION: This is my go-to for a fruit slush and quick Japanese food.
I had been curious about Sushi Q Tea Cafe for a while, unsure of whether it was a sushi restaurant or a bubble tea spot. Finally, I decided to visit in late September. The interior is cozy, with couches in the front and tables scattered around. There were also shelves of reading material, although I didn't check out the selection. The cook wasn't there when I arrived, so there was a bit of a wait for my order, but they had warned me about it beforehand. I opted for the Poke Bowl ($11 for medium), which was filled with salmon, tuna, imitation crab, cucumber, tobiko, seaweed, Tamago, avocado, Aonori, and Mayo, along with a Lychee Green Tea ($4.25). The drink had a subtle lychee flavor. While some reviews mentioned slow service, I found the food to be pretty decent, although the menu options were limited.
