What Tara Forsythe doesn't like about Chakra Indian:
There was no air conditioning in the restaurant, so it was very hot inside. They had two large fans blowing air directly at us. Despite it being peak dinner time, the restaurant was empty with only a few people doing takeout orders. The service was very poor, with one waitress even asking a member of our group to hurry up and finish their meal so she could take their plate. The food did not taste quite right. The cal... Chakra is my favourite restaurant in Vancouver. I have a portion of my budget put aside just for this restaurant. I honestly have only ordered on Uber eats (which feels shameful) so I really do owe this fine establishment a proper visit. I don’t know the atmosphere in there but it sure lights up my household. I love you so much. Thank you for always cheering me up. View all feedback.

read moreNestled in Vancouver, this restaurant offers a mixed bag of experiences, showcasing both potential and pitfalls. Diners have praised classic dishes like butter chicken and daal makhani for their rich flavors and generous portions. However, recent visits noted significant inconsistencies in food quality, with overcooked vegetables and mismanaged spice levels leading to disappointment. The atmosphere suffers from a lack of air conditioning and poor service, deterring customers from a comfortable dining experience. While some enthusiasts hail it as a hidden gem, others caution against the declining preparation that has overshadowed its previous acclaim. A visit may yield either delight or dismay.
The curries and rice dishes at this restaurant are gluten-free. I have ordered takeout from here many times and have never experienced any issues.
