Basil Box - Burnaby

I ordered the Low Calorie Signature Box, which included a salad base topped with coconut curry tofu (which was very flavorful), super seeds, and peanuts, all drizzled with a tangy tamarind sauce. I appreciate firm tofu for its great texture, and this dish was also under 500 calories, making it my favorite item. The Passionfruit Lychee Soda was slightly light in flavor, predominantly tasting like lychee— I could hardly detect the passionfruit. I would suggest opting for the Thai Iced Tea instead. The Thai Iced Tea had a robust tea flavor, which I really enjoyed. As for the Pad Thai with shrimp, it had good flavors and generous portions, and I loved the crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. Just a tip: it's best enjoyed fresh, as the noodles tend to clump together once they get cold.

Situated on the ground floor near the entrance to the underground parking garage, this restaurant offers Thai stir-fry-style fast food. The service is excellent and the presentation is appealing, but the food is just average. It tastes fine but lacks anything remarkable. The drinks are decent too, although they don't stand out. The interior is clean and well-maintained.

I visited Basil Box for the first time and absolutely loved it! I ordered three boxes to go—two build-your-own boxes and a Tofu Pad Thai. The flavors were fantastic, and we felt the portion sizes were quite reasonable for the price. However, I wish there were more sauce and vegetable options available, especially milder sauce choices for those who can't eat peanuts; currently, that leaves just the tamarind option. Hopefully, they can expand their menu in the future! That said, the proteins were delicious, and everything blended nicely together. We also tried their refresher sodas, which were crisp and fruity—perfect for a hot summer day. The place wasn't crowded, and the staff was patient and helpful with our questions about the menu and ingredients. I will definitely be returning!
