This is as typical as it comes as a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. It serves Southern Chinese food. It is not fancy looking or nice decors but if you are used to old style eats... you're familiar with what I'm saying. Food are good and the waitresses are old school friendly. If you are not picky or expect too much then this place will be a nice cheap cozy meal. View all feedback.
What Velva Schaden doesn't like about Au Wing Kee Restaurant:
This greasy spoon has seen better days. It used to be an old favourite with the family and friends... but one look at the men's washroom, will turn off anyone. Yuck. I hope their kitchen is more pleasant. View all feedback.
Very prompt service, extensive menu. Very suitable for large groups. Live seafood tanks if that is your thing.
This place opens until 1 am 7 days a week. The menus are comprehensive and the prices are extremely reasonable. There is something for everyone to like. The restaurant is not big so it can get filled up quickly. Interesting thing on the menu, try snake soup! Hong Kong Style Wonton noodle soup and different kinds of congee are reliable and tasty. A cheap eats on Kingsway in Burnaby!
This is a very casual eatery on Kingsway. We had to park on a side street on a Friday night. We were seated right away, and there was a steady stream of diners during our visit. Our food came out very quickly and almost all at once -- unusual for a Chinese restaurant. We especially enjoyed the chicken and corn soup, the Szechual green beans, the mixed veggies with lotus root and assorted mushrooms. We also ordered a stir fried noodle dish, congee and Chinese spinach. Our total was about $64 and we had enough leftovers for another meal. They offer a discount menu after 9 pm and 10% off carryout. We will surely be back.

Lazy to cook, call or go to this place! Pretty good place for Cantonese food. They are not shy asking for more tips! That's the reason I frequent this place less! One particular waitress, though! I would fire her, but she's been there for years...perhaps she's a stakeholder! And if they use a different detergent for the toilets we would feel a bit "cleaner" when we eat there! Hence I usually prefer to take out!
