Came here for dinner. They immediately asked if we had a reservation. It was 7pm on a Weds but I didn't have one thinking it wouldn't be a big deal. The street was pretty quiet but the host made it seem like no reservation was a huge deal. He walked away and came back about 6 minutes later saying they could squeeze us in. Okay, great! What Jace F doesn't like about Dimarios:
5 star service, 2 star food. The apps and small plates were nice, but the entrees is where this place flopped. Steak waaayyy overdone, somewhat bland pasta dishes, etc. Decent wine list (maybe smuggle in a few more new world bottles). Let the chefs work out the kinks before going back. View all feedback.

Note to self: make a reservation! Don't attempt to just walk in! We got the vodka penne pasta and the Penne Arrabbiata. Both were tasty choices and a generous portion size. We didn't get desert but we did see many desserts other tables ordered pass by and they all looked delicious. The staff were attentive and overall we had a great experience.
Update: since the new owners took over and revamped the restaurant and menu, the once highly respected restaurant is not the same as when Nicky managed the restaurant. The new management team needs to do a better job servicing guests especially when we made reservations asking for a certain table. (They blindly gave it away after we have confirmed twice over the phone) . The servers continues to be fantastic dispute of new management. The new menu no longer has the beloved Nicky's cheesecake, no more specials, over priced and portion sizes are half of what they used to be. However, hats off to the chef for the great food! Everything tasted really delicious.
It is not Nicki and Alex's kitchen anymore.It is a completely different restaurant.
Best Italian restaurant outside Italy. Pricey but always great quality food. Number one place to go for special occasions!
The service was excellent. However, the colour was disappointing mostly because there was so little of it. Since I'm a senior with a small appetite, I can't imagine anyone being satisfied if I wasn't. The clams in my dish were so small, you could hardly see them and the shrimp were overcooked. Very disappointing. colour food
