What Lysanne Erdman doesn't like about Stella Alpina Osteria:
We really wanted to like this place. It was highly recommended. But looking for two hair in two different dishes, food that was not impressive, and stale the bread pudding tasting, I can simply not recommend this place. If you are in Burlingame and want good Italian cuisine to look elsewhere. If this place is half the price it would be 5 stars. But at this price, I would expect better. View all feedback. What MarieW likes about Stella Alpina Osteria:
small , quaint, charming Italian restaurant off the beat in track in downtown Burlingame. Be sure to make a reservation, otherwise you can wait a long time. Cozy bar. Only down fall of this place is that it gets a little noisy. It is worth the noise. View all feedback.

read moreSAO, a small Italian restaurant located in Burlingame, offers a charming and cozy atmosphere with excellent pasta dishes and veggies. Although it can get a bit noisy, the service is good and the crowd is welcoming. Customers have praised the gnocchi with various sauces, as well as the Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and spinach. While some have had mixed experiences with dishes being underwhelming or lacking heat, overall the restaurant seems to have a loyal following and is recommended by many patrons. Reservations are highly recommended due to the restaurant's popularity, especially on busy nights like Fridays. Despite some hit and miss experiences, SAO is a solid choice for those seeking good Italian fare in the Bay Area.
This place was excellent - great food, attentive service, and an elegant, classy ambiance.
