Contribute FeedbackMax's Restaurant in Burlingame presents a mixed dining experience, reflecting both a decline in quality and notable highlights. While some patrons lamented dry sandwiches and uninspired salads compared to their predecessor in Redwood City, others celebrated exceptional service and memorable dishes like the Montecristo sandwich and decadent desserts during special occasions. Despite customer concerns surrounding food freshness and consistency, particularly in the appetizers and desserts, the friendly atmosphere and attentive staff received consistent praise. For those seeking a blend of nostalgia and new experiences, Max’s may offer both charm and opportunities for improvement.
This place is not what it used to be. We had to wait at least minutes to even be greeted and seated. We were finally seated and it was quite obvious they were short staff. Once seated we were never greeted either by our server. There looked to be one server in our section and he was avoiding contact with us. Finally after waiting for minutes we got up and left. I will never come to this place ever again. I understand if youâre short staff but acknowledge your customers and advise them if the situation. The restaurant looked dirty and very chaotic.
It was a plus how good the service and the food turned out to be! Waiter was dreat food was great, it was my wife's birthday so we brought our own cake and the waiter offed to out it in the refrigerator! Then when it was time to bring cake out he bought it with the candles lit!
Unfortunately, whole experience- food, ambiance, service was average at best. Disappointing.
Services is always great and James the bartendar is outstanding.
An enjoyable evening with lots of menu choices and friendly service throughout our dinner. Itâs been a while since we have visited Maxâs so it was nice to know it is still a good place to enjoy a good meal with friends.
