The swimming pool: needs maintenance, cleaning and feeling which is leaking frozen rain. There is no waiter attending the hosts although they claim to have pool service. Bedroom: the Airco does not work. Either you boil in the room or you open the terrace and you freeze. There are no ammenities or goodies. All you get is a bucket of grapes. Service: unexperienced staff, mostly non spaniards, with no clue how to serve a macallan or a gin tonic; and extremely rude senior staff obsessed with charging and overcharging you anything you do. They never show you the ticket when you sign to oay after and they did a lot of mistakes in favour of the hotel. Suspicious. General; the hotel has a game to trick all over since you arrive, dinner in the comedor is a tourist trap where you can 't order wines by cup, and most of the dishes from the bar area are not available. Breakfast in the terrace has a surplus of 50cent per item you take....they only explained you that after. In summary, a place that is not worth the price.

The staff are unable to manage the queues. Management have not thought of adding extra tables and extra staff for heavy travel days such as weekends and holidays. Once you manage to get a table the staff are slow and unresponsive. Many mistakes in orders but mainly very slow. They do not speak between each other. Do not eat the Milanese extremely greasy and has extremely poor bread. This is a place that is living off its former glories and which has failed to modernise into the 21st century.

We had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the Landa. The lunch was casual and served on the terrace and was rather nice. Just some shared tapas type dishes and wine. The waiter was very seasoned , professional and formal--good service. But the dinner was a bit disappointing. The dining room is beautifully appointed and elegant, and it has the potential for being a wonderful dining experience, but the food was underwhelming in taste. It was presented nicely, just didn 't taste amazing. The main course I wanted was available, so I chose lobster, but the waitress told me it took 30 minutes to make and she strongly encouraged me not to order it ? . It came out served on a cute little grill...but it had no flavor or seasoning and no accompaniment. If the setting and service is going to look elevated, the food has to match. And again, the breakfast was just not worth the price or the effort. Once again, served in a beautiful space and by very attentive waiters, but the breakfast menu is odd, limited and overpriced. The Landa comes with a fruit basket full of kiwis and bananas and peaches all at various stages of ripeness. I think it would be better to serve the fruit already prepared/sliced/cut up in a nice bowl? It is hard to cut said fruit with a butter knife. Honestly, I would skip the breakfast and have a bigger lunch on the terrace.

Very good food. Perfect for a Sunday Lunch with intention of spending some walking time, or if travelling to north or to Madrid from the north. The Quality was very good. Service was super attentive, and the overall experience was highly recommended. Recommend to have the eggs with fries as their star dish. But don’t stop only there. Would pass by when I go back to San Sebastián or Bilbao from Madrid.

It is really a pity that the under staffed , slow and poor service ruins the whole experience . I used to stop very other month on my way to madrid . Sorry but not anymore until they make some changes .
